Summary

Falloutfans have been discussing their most hated characters from across the series, a conversation spurred on by Joanne Lynette from Fallout 2.

More people have been picking up the Fallout games for the first time than ever before, thanks to the TV show, with some even going so far as torevisit the classic Fallout gamesthat were released before Bethesda got its grubby mitts all over the franchise. That means that more people than ever are coming into contact with some of the series' least pleasant characters, and being set in a post-apocalyptic Wasteland where common decency is rare, there are quite a few of them.

Jeannie May Crawford

There are some truly despicable characters from across the series, and you’ll struggle to find anyone as uncaring and patronizing as Joanne Lynette from Fallout 2, a woman so annoying that she managed to spur on a conversation aboutthe most hated characters of all time in the Fallout subreddit. User Medalofhalo tips Joanne as their most hated character, though some point out she’s actually rather kind to you if you do a low intelligence run. She’s also the president of a slavery-practicing city-state, so she’s not exactly a saint.

Fallout Has Its Fair Share Of Utter Jerks

Myron is another solid shout from a couple of different users, who is also from Fallout 2 and also practices slavery. Despite the fact he’s only a teenager, Myron also constantly bigs himself up even though he’s quite possibly the worst person you could hope to meet. He helped develop a form of Jet for a crime family in New Reno, and he can also attempt to sexually assault the player if you have a low enough Intelligence stat. He’s definitely up there with Fallout’s biggest scumbags.

AvalancheAbaasy120 goes for a more recent pick in Jeannie May Crawford fromFallout New Vegas, a woman who sold fan-favorite companion Boone’s wife into slavery for essentially looking at her wrong. She then lies to Boone about the incident, telling him she just skipped town, while she also thinks the Ghouls of the nearby REPCONN test site are sub-human and would like to see them all wiped out. Again, not a very pleasant person, but at least you get to help Boone blow her brains out.

There are plenty more characters that were mentioned in the thread, including Cook-Cook from Fallout: New Vegas, the Overseer from the original Fallout, and Father fromFallout 4. Marcy Long is also mentioned in the thread, though it feels a little mean to include her here with the rest of the slavers and sexual predators when all she’s guilty of is giving you some attitude.
