When the Las Vegas Sphere opened up last year, fans ofFallout: New Vegaswere quick to make a whole bunch of jokes about it. One of the most popular was a quick edit ofMr. House’s face stretched over the spherical screen, looking down upon the citizens of Vegas, just as he does in the game - albeit less conspicuously.
As we previously reported, one fan, Evan Zarsaz, is taking this further and has started crowdfunding to make this a reality. Now, in an interview withVG247, Zarsaz has shed more light on the project and revealed that he is actually prepared to put the effort into making this work. If he receives enough money, he is more than happy to get into contact with the company behind the Vegas Sphere and tell them exactly what image he wants to be projected to all who gaze upon it.
How The Mr. House Vegas Sphere Project Could Work
He didn’t always have it worked out. In the interview, he admits that it was all a joke at first, but that quickly changed when the money started coming in.
“I remember seeing the first donation for $5 and thinking to myself, ‘Oh God, what if this takes off! I have so much work to do, I need to get on it ASAP!’” says Zarsaz. “Due to the fact that [the campaign] was made as a joke during my lunch break, I didn’t look into [the practicalities of] it at all.”
He explains that he now realises he will need to contact the company behind the Sphere, but is waiting until more money has come in. He’s given the project until May 2025 to reach its goal, but adds that he may need to bring in more if his estimated cost ends up being much higher. Alternatively, he says he will refund backers if he needs less money - or if the campaign fails to reach the $487,710 goal in a year.
At the time of writing, the amount raised is in the 4000s. This isn’t bad going at all - it’s an impressive amount of money forFalloutfans to have thrown together in a short space of time - but it’s incredibly far off the project’s goal. We’ll have to wait and see how it’s going this time next year.
