We also heard that Playground Games ispotentially aiming to release Fable in 2025, which has now been backed up by insider Tom Warren. Ina new article from The Verge, Warren claims that Xbox is planning to show off its biggest franchises during its showcase this Sunday, with Fable taking center stage. Backing up the rumors from earlier this year, Warren also expects Xbox could announce a 2025 release window for the title at the show, which is probably a lot sooner than most expected given the reported development troubles.

Fable Will Likely Launch As An Xbox Exclusive

Warren also claims that Fable will launch as an Xbox exclusive, something that would have been a given three or four years ago, but is a little shakier now with Xbox’s recent struggles. Warren claims that Fable is currently not being considered for “Project Latitude”, Xbox’s internal plan to put some of its existing and upcoming titles on other platforms like PS5, though it sounds like that could potentially change later down the line.

As for what will be announced alongside Fable, various teases and leaks have surfaced over the past few days, witha new installment in the Gears of War series expected to be teased. It’s also likely we’ll see the announcement of a new Doom game - which apparently is being considered for a PS5 release according to Warren - asDoom: The Dark Ages was leaked by reputable insider Tom Hendersonlast month.
