Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroescarries the spirit of Konami’s old Suikoden series on its shoulders, and it’s apparent at every turn. One of the most vivid examples is in the game’s usage of runes, powerful equippable artifacts that instill various powers upon their wielders.

The huge cast of playable characters are eligible for various segments of your growing number of runes. But you’ll probably want to snag them all so as to keep your options as wide as possible. Our guide is documenting where you can purchase every rune in Eiyuden Chronicle; keep it handy, and you won’t miss a thing!

Castle (Your Town) Rune Shop

In our experience, the rune shopyou can eventually open up byrecruiting Code L to your castlewill gainevery town-based runeas you upgrade it.

You’llgain access to the second-tier elemental spells(Rune of Inferno, Currents, etc)beforeyou reach Twinhorne Westif you manage to keep your castle’s rune shop up-to-date. you may also, eventually, purchaseruneshards which act as one-time consumables for spells.

These runeshards are great because you may stockpile them and have a reliable source of magic spellswithout the need for those spells to take up precious rune slots.

That said, they don’t appear to be quite as robust as, say, Francesca will be if she taps into her great magic stat! Your dedicated mage-type characters will be the best at all this, but runeshards always come in handy in a pinch.
