Summary
As you venture into the Erebus and beyond inHades 2, you stand the chance of running into a handful of minibosses. Some are certainly easier to best than others, but they all provide a unique fight that changes up your routine occasionally.
Throughout the different areas, you can generally choose whether or not you confront a miniboss, though, on occasion, you are corralled into a fight with one. Really, the only area where the minibosses will always be completely optional is Tartarus. While the Underworld holds most of these encounters, you may also stumble across a secret one on your way to Olympus.

The following contains spoilers for Hades 2. Please note that Hades 2 is still in Early Access and information may be subject to change.
9Shadow-Spiller
A Stationary And Generally Non-Threatening Entity
The Shadow-Spiller is an interesting boss, given that it makes the stage dark. If you take out the minions that spawn with it - always outside of its shade, it’s relatively defenseless. It doesn’t move from where it is and it has a pretty large telegraph time.
Dodge is out of the range of its tail and it’s pretty helpless. You almost might feel bad for the poor thing, because it has no choice but to take each of your attacks until it ultimately perishes.

8The Verminancer
Rats Aren’t Going To Help You Here, Verminancer
Despite being located in Tartarus, the Verminancer really isn’t a huge threat for you. At least, it’s not as big of a threat as it might like to be. The shield it’s covered in can take a few seconds to break, but once that’s down, the Verminancer is as good as burnt toast.
Really, if you’re going to fight a miniboss in Tartarus, you should be praying that you’re going to fight the Verminancer. It’s a fun but easy fight in the end game that usually gives a worthwhile reward for your efforts.

7Deep Serpent
The Deep Serpent is probably the most common minibossthat you’ll come across in Oceanus. Once you dispatch the minions, it is relatively easy to handle. Avoid its head swivel attack, and you’re able to pretty much stay in one spot as you knock down its shield and health.
Occasionally you’ll have to dodge around the map to catch up with it, but compared to other minibosses on this list, its threat is pretty negligible. Just verify you aim for the minions first. Leaving them be can pose a problem in the long run, especially since, combined, they can sweep over the entire stage.

6Root Stalker
Annoying To Fight, But Easy Enough To Strategize With
The Root Stalker is a frustrating miniboss to come across in Erebus. Not only can it hold you in place with one of its attacks, but it shoots out rapid-fire thorns, moving quickly and following you around.
The best method to deal with the Root Stalker is to get its “hold” attack on the edge of the map before dodging behind and in front of it during its attacks. Take out its root and eventually, it too will follow. In the early parts of the game, this probably isn’t the miniboss you want to end up facing.

5King Vermin
Putting The “Mini” In “Miniboss”
King Vermin, also known as “Uh Oh”is, indeed, an “Uh Oh” when you come across him in Oceanus. Returned from the Temple of Styx in the original game, now as a King, this rat is gradually crawling his way to the surface and is out for revenge.
He’ll summon other vermin, dash around the field, and make slam attacks. Not to mention that you’re still at risk of environmental dangers in Oceanus. This fight is fun but one of the most dangerous Oceanus fights if you’re off guard and don’thave some good Boonswith you.

4Queen Lamia
May The Kingdom Fall Before The Queen
Queen Lamia, although not the hardest fight in the Mourning Fields, is one of the most annoying. This isn’t to say she isn’t a threat - she could very well end your run before you reach Tartarus if you’re underprepared. Not only does she have a high-damage shield, but you’ll need to defeat the four Lamia with her if you want the smallest chance of beating her.
Ranged weaponry and quick dodgesare great for this fight, unless you fully plan to tank the lightning hits. They chase you around the field and are, frankly, very annoying. If you don’t take out the Lamia servants, then the Queen Lamia will just keep knocking you backward until you do.

3Phantom
Annoying Little Health Thief
Ah, the horrid Phantom, a creature that deals you damage and heals itself in return. Although the Phantom is only found in the Mourning Fields, it’s arguably one of the tougher things that you could face. Not only does it deal harsh amounts of damage, but it teleports, moves fast, has a draw in attack, and is actively healing itself the entire time.
The minions it surrounds itself with are easily dispatched, but good luck avoiding it while you do so. It, and its stupid health, are just going to keep healing the entire time.

2Goldwraith
Greed Has Never Been So Frustrating To Deal With
Goldwraith is one of the optional minibosses you may encounter in Tartarus, and they are an absolute nightmare to fight if you’re not great at dodging. This oversized sack of coins and lasers moves fast and occasionally spits out coins that deal repeated damage.
Once that shield is gone, it’s really not that much of a problem, but the same thing could be said for every miniboss. Unfortunately, its shield is incredibly durable, and while active, it moves around very fast. Your cast will be your best friend while fighting the Goldwraith.

1Charybdis
The Last Thing You Want To See On The Surface
Charybdis is less of a miniboss and more of a genuine, threatening boss. However, there’s only a chance that you may encounter this oceanic monstrosity on your ventures to Olympus. There’s a half-decent chance you’ll be blindsided by this fight, and you just have to pray that you don’t encounter it right before you meet Eris.May the Gods be in your favor, because Charybdis hates you.
You’ll always get a stop at Charon’s shop before Eris, but sometimes you just need way more time to prepare. Charybdis strips that preparation chance away from you in favor of smacking you around instead.
