King Ghidorah And Rodan As Your Deck’s Leaders

The first of your potential characters to lead your deck is King Ghidorah, Emperor of the Cosmos, and this three-headed dragon has a wild playstyle. Despite having a pitifully small health total of just ten, you actually have 30 to work with thanks to the use of King Ghidorah counters to keep you topped up.

While this may seem like a formality at first, having less than ten health matters for some of the cards in the deck. Relentless Challenger is going to be a key part of your strategy, as you’re always going to be meeting the requirements to buff up your attacks.

There’s also a strong removal theme here, with lots of cards that either allow you to remove your own cards, or give you bonuses for when you do. Ghidorah himself can remove attacks and foundations from your discard pile, while Supersonic Flight can rebuild your hand, and Tri Gravity Beam gets stronger if you’ve removed a card that turn.

These all come together for a very fast deck that wants you to hit hard and constantly play at low health totals. Remove cards, lose your health, and buff your attacks as much as you may to take out your opponent before you remove your final King Ghidorah counter.

Each of the Godzilla Challenger Series decks includes a different Mechagodzilla card. These can’t lead the deck, but as both Rodan and Ghidorah have the Void attribute, you’re able to run Mechagodzilla in the deck.

This removal theme is also the primary strategy of the second leader, Rodan, Giant Monster of the Sky. His abilities are all about removing cards from your discard pile, with a focus on attacks to enable the second Enhance ability and its excellent card filtering abilities.

Though he is a bit more of a traditional UniVersus character than King Ghidorah and his low life total, Rodan’s ability to sort cards on the top of your deck, and then remove them for massive speed changes helps you slip through attacks a lot more consistently.

How To Get The Alt-Art Cards

Each Challenger Series deck includes one complementary Collector’s booster, which gives you the chance of pulling any of the alternate art versions of cards in your deck.

If you just want the Godzilla cards to play with, buying each of the decks will give you everything you need. But if you want to go for the bling, like the stunning Combined Firepower or Monster Zero, you’ll need to find them in the Collector boosters.

UniVersus

Formerly known as the Universal Fighting System (UVS) UniVersus is a collectible card game in which you build decks of cards, with an additional Character Card that represents you and can access powerful Enhance abilities.
