The bots have been a menace inHelldivers 2since day one. The Operation Swift Disassembly’s conclusion wiped the presence of all bots from the Galactic War Table, and they did not pose a threat to Super Earth. This success, however, was short-lived.
The bots returned quickly, and it was revealed that the wiped ones were just the early vanguard. The aggressive units have now started taking planets from the north side of Super Earth. The elite soldiers are now given the Evacuate High-Value Assets mission, tasking them to see the launch of eight rockets before the bots can infiltrate the compound.
Understanding The Mission Design And Enemy Movement
The Evacuate High-Value Assets is a Defense mission, andunderstanding the layout will help divers plan the assaultaccordingly. Thismission type comprises three sections. Each section hasblue doors which you can manually open and closeto control the defense of assault positions.
Theouter section comprises two doorslocated at the opposite sides. All theAutomaton forces will drop from ships at the outer boundary.This gives you enough space to launch the assault and stop the bot forces before they can penetrate the inner walls.
Themiddle or second door section contains two more doors. The first one connects the outer boundary, and the other door connects the middle section to the generator compound.
Thelast door protects two generators you must defend by stopping the Automatonsfrom reaching them. These generators power the rockets and the mission requires you tofire eight rockets to complete the main objective.
Besides Automaton’s assault, the generators can also be destroyed by the friendly fire of helldivers. If one generator is destroyed, the mission will fail. you may then either extract or deplete all reinforcements to end the mission.
Best Stratagems For Evacuate High-Value Assets Mission
Using thebest stratagemsis the only way to become victorious against Automaton’s might. As a defense mission, you cango full-frontal assault using the Eagles and Orbitals or go completely passive by bringing the Sentry stratagems.
Your choice will determine the outcome.
However, we have foundthe following stratagems that give the best resultsin wiping away the Automatons before they can even reach the inner walls to harm the generators.
A/M-12 Mortar Sentry
TheEvacuate High-Value Assets is a defense mission, and therefore it warrants the usage of defensive stratagems. There isno better defensive stratagem than theMortar Sentry. It is passive, fires mortar shells to deal AoE damage, and it can be placed away from the enemy’s line of fire.
For all these reasons, the A/M-12 Mortar Sentry is one of the best defensive stratagems you should utilize while playing the Evacuate High-Value Assets mission.Each team member should bring one Mortar Sentry and place all in four different locationsfor maximum combat efficiency.
You can always bring other defensive stratagems, such asRocket SentryorGatling Gun, but these must be placed at the frontlines since they have a horizontal line of fire mode. The Mortar sentry has a parabolic firing mode, which is why its placement can be far away from the Automaton’s reach.
Eagle 110MM Rocket Pods
As youprogress through the mission, more bot dropships appear, many of which will be Annihilator Tanks. The easiest way to destroy these tanks is to hit them with explosive damage on the exposed back heatsink. However, this means going out of the limb and attacking outside defensive spots. This is not ideal, and it will get you killed.
Luckily, theEagle 110MM Rocket Podsis the best offensive stratagem for wiping out tanksin one go. Tanks have slow movement speed, and when you throw this stratagem on a tank or near it, the pods are dropped by Eagle fighter planes, which destroy tanks immediately.
Destroying tanks should be made a priority. Otherwise, you will quickly find yourself overwhelmed by five or more thanks while half through rocket launches. The mission will become a disaster if you fail to destroy tanks quickly.
You can always use any other offensive stratagem to destroy tanks, such asOrbital LaserandOrbital Railcannon Strike. However, both have higher cooldowns, which puts you at a disadvantage when you have many tanks to destroy.
Eagle Airstrike
The frequent bot dropships release all kinds of Automatons on you, especially if you are playing the mission on Helldive difficulty. Striders, Hulks, Devastators, Rocket Devastators, tanks, and more will start firing from a range at you.
In situations like this,it is imperative to deal with AoE damage and destroy botsas soon as possible before they rally up at the doors, destroy them, and infiltrate the generator compound. TheEagle Airstrikeis the perfect stratagem to destroy an approaching bot armyand score a higher kill count in a single stratagem use.
Orbital Laser is another excellent stratagem that can kill a concentrated crowd. However, we find that it has a much higher cooldown than the Eagle Airstrike and very limited use in each mission. Therefore, using Eagle Airstrike as the go-to AoE offensive stratagem will give better results during the mission.
LAS-99 Quasar Cannon Or EAT-17 Expendable Anti-tank
Each dropship has four engines, two on either end.Hitting anyone with a highly damaging plasma charge ofQuasar Cannonor a single RPG from anEAT-17 Anti-tankwillcrash the dropship. This action quickly destroys most of the Automatons a dropship carries. If you hit the ship soon after the bots are dropped, the ship will work for you.
Having all four team members using either Quasar Cannon or EATwill prove to be more efficient in combat. You canhit every dropship, significantly reducing the bot’s presence from the get-go.
While both support stratagems have a few merits and demerits, we believeQuasar Cannonis a slightly better pick for this mission type.
Strategy To Complete Mission On Helldive Difficulty
Playingmissions against the Automaton faction on Helldive difficulty is never easy. The bots deal range damage, and the Evacuate High-Value Assets mission, nevertheless, feels different.
Thelayered defenses and the bot drop outside the boundaries give you enough room to be creativewith stratagems and devise a defensive strategy to destroy bots. We have a few pointers to recommend that will give you better results in launching an aggressive offense.
Always use the helipad located north of the generators. This platform faces outside the base boundary, and all bots drop at the spot. It gives you a clear line of fire to throw grenades, fire primary weapons, or shoot down the dropships conveniently using the Quasar Cannon.At least two helldivers should lead the assault from this location.
Try to create tank choke points at the doors to halt furtherthe movement of bots trying to penetrate the doors. This can be done easily bydropping the Eagle 110MM Rocket Pods whenever a tank is about to cross a door. The rocket pods will immediately destroy the tank, blocking the door and stopping other bots from going past it.
You mustuse the Resupply Pod generously. Call down the Resupply Pod at the mission’s start, even if you have ammo, stims, and grenades in stock. The cooldown timer will serve as a buffer, and you will get to pick supplies from the existing dropped pod should the need arise.
Always target the bot dropshipsas soon as you see it releasing the Automatons on the ground. Whatever focus you have on the field,if you see the bot dropship, switch to Quasar Cannon or EAT and hit its engine. This strategy will always reduce bot presence significantly, giving you more chances to succeed in the mission.
