Summary
Elden Ringfans are getting their golden dung kicked in Shadow of the Erdtree, so much so that negative reviews have poured in on the Steam page anddragged the overall score down to ‘Mixed’. There’s a solution if you’re willing to cheat.
“Easy Shadow of the Erdtree"is a mod that does exactly what it says on the tin. It decreases all enemy damage to around 35 percent, making it so that you die slower as you can take a lot more hits. “You can also use this mod to learn boss patterns without dying so many times, before getting rid of it and trying the way [FromSoftware] intended,” the creator writes.

I reviewed Shadow of the Erdtree(on New Game Plus no less, at around level 160-170), and I’m honestly confused by the reception. I’m by no means a great Soulsborne player and didn’t find it nearly as hard as people are saying. My only advice is to go out and explore and find those fragments, they make it way easier.
Since this is a mod, it only works for PC players. If you’re on console and struggling, you’ll need to grit and bear, find those fragments, pump some points into vigour, and get rolling. If you are thinking about picking up this fan-made addon, however, you’ll want to ensure you’re playing offline. There’s always a risk of getting banned with mods.
If That’s Not Enough, There’s A Wolverine Mod
If that’s still too tough for you, there’s another mod called"Wolverine Mode"which makes you take 50 percent less damage while also passively regenerating health and FP. You’ll also do double damage and recover all Runes immediately.
It even makes the new Blessing of Marika, which is essentially the Divine Blessing fromDark Souls, an infinite-use item.
This is the biggest easy mode mod out there right now, but the creator recommends you use claws if you download it for that true Wolverine experience.
