Summary

Elden Ring’s long-awaitedShadow of the Erdtree DLCis finally here. With its release, both Soulsborne veterans and newcomers alike are either returning to the game or jumping in for the first time.TheGamer’s James Troughton gave the DLC five stars in their review, writing “Shadow of the Erdtree is the studio’s most ambitious DLC yet, with a sprawling open world as varied as the base game.”

That said, unlike other DLC releases, where players can simply purchase, download, then jump right into the expansion, or simply play the expansion without ever having touched the main game, Shadow of the Erdtree requires something a bit different. Indeed, to access Shadow of the Erdtree, players will have had to defeat the bosses,Starscourge RadahnandMohg, Lord of Bloodbefore entering. And thoughElden Ring is arguably FromSoftware’s most accessible game to date, it’s still a tall task as both bosses are extremely punishing.

In the leadup to Shadow of the Erdtree’s release,GamesRadar noted that 77% of Xbox players hadn’t beat Mohg. Elsewhere, only 34.7% of PlayStation players and 38.7% of Steam users have beatenMohg. In other words, the numbers are pretty dire. But fear not, because Elden Ring pros are ready to help turn those numbers around.

Elden Ring Vets Are Offering To Help Players

Over on the r/BeyondTheFog subreddit, which is dedicated to helping players connect with other players for online multiplayer, either PvP or help with taking down bosses, many players have offered their services to take down Mohg and Radahn, as well as any other boss that players might have trouble with. For what it’s worth, this isn’t the first subreddit dedicated to helping with a FromSoftware title.Elsewhere, r/huntersbell is dedicated to doing the same for Bloodborne, whereasr/SummonSign is a catch-all subreddit for all other Souls titles.

That said,r/BeyondTheFog is currently flooded with players willing to help others in their games. Take, for example, u/Lost_Struggle_9012, who has set himself up to be summoned by other players for boss help.

That user is not the only one who has offered their services. Elsewhere, other users have posted specific bosses they’re having trouble with, and Elden Ring pros have responded by lending a helping hand. It’s an awesome look at a community banding together to ensure everyone can get a chance to play the DLC, and, if not, at the very least, see the base game to its completion. And with many stepping up to take down the fearsome duo, those numbers should certainly see a significant boost.
