Summary

AnElden Ringplayer has become the first person in the world to beat the game eight times in a row, all the way up to the seventh tier of New Game Plus, without dying or leveling up once.

Just when you think Elden Ring fans havefinished performing ridiculous feats of gaming prowess, they go ahead and prove you wrong. WithShadow of the Erdtreefinally upon us, there was just enough time for Elden Ring fans to squeeze in one more world record before moving onto the Lands of Shadow. It’s a doozy this time too, asTwitch streamer ItzCBDhas managed to beat Elden Ring eight times in a row without leveling up or dying once.

ItzCBD posted the proof of their accomplishmentto their Twitter account earlier this week, explaining that they started out as a Wretch and played through the game eight times with the same character, going from NG to NG7 without leveling up or dying. According to the timer on ItzCBD video, it took them a pretty whopping (whopping for speedrunners anyway) 16 hours and 39 minutes to land the final blow on the Elden Beast.

Elden Ring Player Beats Game Eight Times In A Row Without Dying Or Leveling

ItzCBD could probably go for a couple more playthroughs, though there would be little point. Once you’ve hit the seventh tier of New Game Plus in Elden Ring, the game stops getting harder and rewards stay the same, essentially becoming the same experience over and over again. It’s pretty much the end goal for deathless or no-level runs, and ItzCBD claims to be the first to accomplish both with the same character.

With this accomplishment, you’re able to now begin to see why FromSoftware decided to"push the envelope" with Shadow of the Erdtree’s difficulty, and that some fights in the DLC will really test what “can be withstood by the player.” To more casual players, that sounds absolutely terrifiying, but to your speedrunners and Elden Ring experts, Miyazaki may have well just thrown down the gauntlet.
