There are plenty of mysteries surrounding Elden Ring that haven’t been solved just yet, one of which includesthe three missing heads of Dragonlord Placidusax. This boss can be found in Crumbling Farum Azula, and is one of the most menacing in the entire game, pitting you against a massive dragon that was once considered the Elden Lord during a time beforeMarika and her Golden Order came along.
By the time you roll up to Dragonlord Placidusax, a mixture of fighting and time has taken its toll on the old dragon, as he’s been battered, ragged about, and is missing multiple heads. Of course, it takes a lot of effort to whip the head off a dragon, never mind multiple, and the mission to track who cut Placidsax’s heads off and where they are now has been raging since release. One may have now been found in Shadow of the Erdtreeby Twitter account Elden Ring Alerts.
Elden Ring Fan Finds One Of Placidusax’s Heads In Shadow Of The Erdtree
During your time in the Land of Shadow, you should come across Jagged Peak, an inhospitable place for humans, but an absolute haven for dragon kind. You’ll fight multiple dragons on your way to the top, which happens to be the home of Bayle The Dread, a massive dragon that also happens to be pretty banged up. He’s missing various limbs, his wings are a mess, and he just so happens to have another dragon’s head lodged in the side of his neck, one that likely belongs to Placidusax.
We know this thanks to the description of the Talisman of the Dread, which explains that Bayle and Placidusax fought in a pretty intense battle that left both of them gravely wounded. While we don’t know what happened to Placidusax’s other heads, it makes sense that Bayle may have ripped off more than one in their fight. So, the mystery of how Placidusax lost his heads has finally been solved, though we now have a new one to consider, as Placidusax somehow beating Bayle despite the power difference is a mystery in itself.
