Summary
It may be “Goku Day” all across the world, but the son of Vegeta - Trunks - is here to steal the spotlight.Fortnite, which is known for its massive collaborations across pop culture, will reportedly be adding Trunks to the fold.
In the past, Fortnite has had crossovers with many anime, including series likeNaruto,My Hero Academia, Jujutsu Kaisen,Attack on Titanand, of course,Dragon Ball, which have all been the subject of various waves of downloadable content. What’s most interesting about this rumour, though, is thatit would be the pair’s fifth collaboration.
More often than not, collaborations are typically a one-or-two-time deal, though it would appear that Dragon Ball will continue to buck that trend. It’s far from the first series in Fortnite to have had so many different collaborations (we’re looking at youStar WarsandMarvel), but it’s definitely in the running for being one of the game’smost represented anime.
Trunks Is Seemingly Coming To Fortnite
The rumour comes courtesy of reliable Fortnite insider HYPEX, who regularly reveals upcoming collaborations for the game. Earlier today, HYPEX shared that Twitter user Wensoing, who previously gave them information about the My Hero Academia crossover, informed them that a version of Future Trunks was coming to Fortnite soon.
We don’t currently know which version of Future Trunks is going to be coming to Fortnite but, considering Goku Black is already in the game, it seems likely that we’ll be getting the Super version of the character and not the one seen in Dragon Ball Z. Sadly, that probably means no awesome denim jean jacket. We can dream.
If we do get a Super version of Trunks, then it at least means we’re likely to see his Super Saiyan Rage transformation, just like how other DBZ characters have their power-ups.
If Trunks does end up arriving to The Island, he will join a sizable group of characters spanning from Dragon Ball Z to Super. As of the time of writing, the following Dragon Ball characters have made their way into Fortnite:
As you’re able to see, it’s a pretty massive list that features fan-favorite heroes and villains along with recent updated entries like Gohan and Piccolo from Super: Super Hero. Each of those inclusions has featured multiple transformations and variants such as Frieza’s multiple forms, as well as accompanying emotes and back blings or harvesting tools.
