Summary
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero’s roster is shaping up to be a massive collection of heroes, villains and iconic figures from throughout the Dragon Ball franchise. Already we’ve seenthe likes of Ultra Instinct Goku,GotenksandSaiyan-era Piccolo confirmed as part of the game’s promotional trailers. And, on Friday,we learned that Sparking Zero will officially launch on October 11.
We also learned that Sparking Zero will have a season pass.

As part ofthe Summer Game Fest announcement trailer, it was revealed that Sparking Zero will have a season pass featuring 20-plus characters. That pass will beincluded in the game’s deluxe, ultimate and premium editions. It will seemingly be available for purchase à la carte, as most season passes often are.
The deluxe edition, which is available only digitally,is listed on the PlayStation Store for $99.99, meaning a separate season pass purchase will likely run gamers $29.99. For reference, the Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections season pass runs at $24.99, thoughit offers far less content than what Sparking Zero is advertising.
According to Bandai Namco’s website, Sparking Zero’s season pass will apparently be divided into three installments. Currently, they’re being listed as DLC 1-3. That would line up with the announcement, which features Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 from Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero as well as the logo for the upcoming Dragon Ball Daima anime. It would appear that Super Hero and Daima will make up two of the three packs.
We’re Going To Have To Pay For Beast Gohan, Aren’t We?
Super Hero is the last piece of Dragon Ball media to premiere, and it featured some insane transformations that quickly became fan favorites.Orange Piccolo and Beast Gohan highlighted the movie, along with a fat version of Gotenks andaged up versions of Trunks and Goten. Given that the season pass explicitly mentions Super Hero, it would appear that any assortment of those characters would be fair game for DLC along with the pictured Gamma androids.
As for Daima, that anime is scheduled to premiere sometime this fall. It’s been created to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Dragon Ball, and it will feature an original storyby the late Akira Toriyama. Not much else is known about Daima, though its plot will revolve around a conspiracy that has turned Goku and company small. A teaser trailer debuted several months ago, which shows many of the transformed characters.
It’s safe to assume that the Daima DLC pack will feature many of the characters in their small forms. As for the third DLC pack, it remains to be seen what that will be. To date, no GT content has been shown, andfans are certain that it won’t be in the base game. That’s becausethe game’s Fusion trailer did not showcase Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta, but it showed all the other Fusion fighters.
In other words, GT seems like a good possibility to take up that final DLC spot. That would mean the likes of Super Saiyan 4Goku and a mustachioed Vegeta would be part of the roster. It would also mean thatSparking Zerowould serve as the definitive Dragon Ball game, having characters from all the franchise’s series. Here’s hoping that’s the case.
