Summary
Bandai Namco recently confirmed thatSparking Zero will include fan favourites like Beerus, adult Gohan, Videl, and Whis. What’s more, future Gohan only has one arm, something that the games have rarely touched on. And in a newly released gameplay trailer, we finally got to see all of them in action.
In cutscene-quality fights, the trailer starts with Piccolo and young Gohan sparring, followed by Videl and an older two-armed Gohan training together, capped off with one-armed Future Gohan and Future Trunks duking it out in the ruins of West City.

True to the manga and anime, not every character in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero can fly. Sorry, Master Roshi.
Gohan then battles Androids 17 and 18, the two who caused him to lose his arm in the first place. As he was carrying an unconscious Trunks, the pair bombarded the area with bombs in the hopes of catching them in the crossfire. They survived, but Gohan lost his left arm, choosing to give Trunks the Senzu bean rather than saving it for himself.
The trailer also shows off the angel Whis and the god of destruction Beerus training together. You can see it for yourself below.
When Is Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Releasing?
We still don’t have a concrete release date for Sparking Zero from Bandai Namco, but reports surfaced earlier this year that it’saiming to launch in late 2024 or sometime in 2025. Every trailer, including this new one, has ended in “Wishlist Now”, so we’ll have to wait and see to find out if these claims are accurate.
It’s worth noting that Sparking Zero finally gotan ESRB rating in Marchwhich does point to it releasing sometime this year. It was rated T for Teen, which is par for the course for a Dragon Ball game, but the leap from “Rating Pending” to an actual classification means that the game is likely going to launch soon. Following in the footsteps of past Budokai Tenkaichi games, we might see it in October, or perhaps November for the series' 40th anniversary.
