Summary
Eagle-eyedDragon Ballfans have pointed out thatSparking Zeroseems to be using several special moves that are exclusive to the Dragon Ball Super manga, giving a sliver of hope for characters like Ultra Ego Vegeta and Moro.
Anyone who has been following Sparking Zero since it was revealed will know that one of the biggest topics of discussion surrounding the game (especially now it has an official release date) isabout which characters might be joining the roster. We’ve already seen a ton of playable fighters, but some big questions remainwhen it comes to representation from GT, original Dragon Ball, and, of course, the Super manga.
While most have accepted that GT and original Dragon Ball content willeventuallyshow up in Sparking Zero, things are a bit more complicated when it comes to the manga. No one is really sure if characters like Ultra Ego Vegeta, Moro, and Granolah can be put into Sparking Zero since they’ve not appeared in the show, but recent gameplay has confirmed thatsomereferences can be made.
Sparking Zero Is Bringing Over Manga-Exclusive Moves
As highlighted by Twitter user AwarenaNoAyoub, one of the most recent examples of manga-exclusive content being put into Sparking Zero can be seen with Trunks (Super) and one of his special abilities. The gameplay video shared above shows Trunks using Solar Flare, a technique he never learned outside of the Dragon Ball Super manga, implying it’s been brought over as a reference.
Trunks isn’t the only character to have a manga-exclusive move, however. A few weeks ago,it was pointed out that Vegeta’s Super Saiyan Blue transformation has an attack called Gamma Burst Flash, which is another attack lifted directly from the manga. While Trunks using Solar Flare could just be written off as him being given an attack already in the game, Vegeta had a whole unique attack created for him from the manga.
Sparking Zero isn’t the only game to do this, as Xenoverse 2 gives Vegeta a variation on Gamma Burst Flash andTrunks can use Solar Flare in one of his variations.
The final example of manga-exclusive content being brought over for Sparking Zero can very briefly be seen in gameplay footage of Goku Black, whose moveset indicates that he has his Black Bind move from the manga. You probably get the point now, but that’s another technique that was never in the anime and originated from the manga.
For now, those are all of the examples that have been found of Sparking Zero taking from the Dragon Ball Super manga, but it’s enough to give some fans hope that there might be more substantial content alongside the attacks. But come on, it’s Ultra Ego Vegeta that we’re all wanting to see, right?
