Summary
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zerohas made some big improvements to Super Saiyan 3 Goku’s design in its latest build, although he’s still not as muscular as fans want him to be.
Just a few weeks ago,Dragon Ball fans were blessed with a ton of Sparking Zero gameplay footagethanks topreviews that took place at Summer Game Fest. Although this was generally great news for everyone wanting to see more of the gameafter finding out it’s only a few months away from launching, the new footage did generate some new complaints.
One of the biggest complaints that popped up after Summer Game Fest has to do with Sparking Zero’s visuals. More specifically, how the game handles Super Saiyan 3 Goku, one of the most iconic and beloved transformations in Dragon Ball Z. Despite looking great in the trailers, SSJ3 Goku’s in-game look was a little off, especially if you took a close look at his face.
Sparking Zero Has Already Fixed Super Saiyan 3 Goku’s Face
Super Saiyan 3 Goku’s strangely emotionless face quickly became a meme after Summer Game Festbut, as funny as it looked, a lot of fans weren’t happy with the design of one of DBZ’s most iconic forms, especially since it looked great in the Goku vs Vegeta trailer. Well, it seems like there’s not much to worry about, as Goku’s Super Saiyan 3 design has already been tweaked.
Just a few days ago,an hour-long gameplay showcase of Sparking Zero was released, which mostly focused on versus battles. At one point in the showcase, Super Saiyan 3 Goku is one of the characters being used, which gave us a closer look at his face.As showcased by Redditor Chronoz1995 on the Budokai Tenkaichi subreddit, it’s clear that some big improvements have already been made.
The changes are most evident in Goku’s face, which now has better shading and looks more expressive than it previously did. It mostly seems to come down to lighting differences, but it’s unarguably better than it was during the Summer Game Fest footage, implying that the latest showcase was on a newer build of Sparking Zero.
This is far from the first time that Sparking Zero’s visuals have been updated,as Vegeta and Super Saiyan God Goku have both seen some big improvements since the Rivals trailer. Oh, andwe can’t forget about the banana hair, either.
Although most fans agree that Goku’s Super Saiyan 3 form is looking a lot better now, he’s still notquitewhere he needs to be. One of the big problems that some have had with Sparking Zero is how skinny the characters look, which is especially noticeable with previously beefy forms like Super Saiyan 3. Here’s hoping that Goku’s best form gets a few more changes before the final release.
