Summary
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zerofans are finding it pretty difficult to get their hands on the game’s recently revealed collector’s edition, as retailers are selling out within minutes and scalpers are reselling pre-orders for over $400.
It’s a good time to be aDragon Ballfan at the moment, as we now know we’re just four months away from the release of Sparking Zero, asthe game’s long-rumored October release date was revealed during Summer Game Fest. Now that we know when the game will launch, publisher Bandai Namco has opened up pre-orders and revealed a snazzy collector’s edition for all the Dragon Ball super fans.

Unfortunately, actually grabbing a copy is proving pretty difficult at the moment, as retailers are selling out within minutes of posting new stock. There are reports from fans of stores putting collector’s editions up for sale and then selling out within 15 minutes, with some fans even claiming that copies are selling out in less than seven. It’s very difficult to grab a copy right now and likely will be until release, but things would be a little better if it wasn’t for our old enemies, the scalpers.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Collector’s Edition Is Being Scalped For Over $400
If you head on over to Ebay, you’ll have absolutely no trouble finding a listing for a Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero collector’s edition, but you’ll find it at a much higher price than what it’s originally sold for. While the edition sells for around £160 at retailers, you’ll find most listings on Ebay selling the title for around £400/$400,with some going even further than that. It’s not all that surprising, but it’s a massive shame to see yet again.
Scalping has become a big issue in recent years, especially in gaming, as we move further and further into an all-digital shopping experience. There have been attempts to put limits on how many copies people can buy at any given time, though it’s done little to stop scalpers, with recent items such asthe PlayStation PortableandBaldur’s Gate 3 Deluxe Editionsboth being scalped recently for well above the intended asking price.

Baldur’s Gate 3 was being scalped for a whopping $2,000 when pre-orders went live, though Larian is one of the few developers out there toswiftly give them the middle fingerin the best way possible.
All Dragon Ball fans can really do is keep an eye out on Bandai Namco’s social media for future drops, cross your fingers, and pray to Goku that you’re one of the lucky ones next time around.
