Summary

Dragon Age: The Veilguardwill let you pick from six origins when creating your Rook, and after yesterday’s gameplay trailer, BioWare unveiled what they are. Asleaks from last year suggested, the Grey Wardens are back.

“An ancient order sworn to fight darkspawn and monsters,” the description opens. “Wardens undergo secret rites that grant them supernatural powers.” In Origins, weplay as one of the last Grey Wardens of Ferelden, fighting back against the Blight, but they’re far less prominent in Dragon Age 2 and by the time of Inquisition, have been corrupted by Corypheus.

There’s a nine-year gap between Inquisition and Dreadwolf, so what happened to the Grey Wardens in between games is unclear, but with them making up one of the six origins, fans will no doubt leap at the chance to find out.

BioWare Reveals All Six Dragon Age: The Veilguard Origins

Aside from the Grey Wardens, Dragon Age: The Veilgaurd will let us play as Veil Jumpers, Shadow Dragons, Lords of Fortune, The Mourn Watch, and Antivan Crows. The descriptions for each are as follows:

Veil Jumpers

“Explorers of ancient elven ruins. They welcome anyone brave enough to face Arlathan’s reality-warping magic.”

Shadow Dragons

“A resistance opposing corrupt rulers and slavery in Tevinter. They are determined to bring justice to the people.”

Lords Of Fortune

“Explorers, hunters, and treasure-seekers from Rivain who are famed for their daring exploits and narrow escapes.”

The Mourn Watch

“An elite necromantic order that tends to Nevarra’s sprawling grand Necropolis, where undead walk and spirits dwell.”

Antivan Crows

“Swift knives in the dark, these ruthless assassins are respected and feared as Antiva’s shadowy protectors.”

WHERE TO PLAY

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is the long-awaited fourth game in the fantasy RPG series from BioWare formerly known as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. A direct sequel to Inquisition, it focuses on red lyrium and Solas, the aforementioned Dread Wolf.
