Summary
Pasta and noodles are canon inDragon Age. This was just confirmed byBioWarein a Q&A with fans, for some reason, with the full answer being far more detailed than you would expect.
I’m not entirely sure why someone asked this question, since the Q&A was supposed to be aboutDragon Age: The Veilguard, but I am glad they did. In response to the question, BioWare’s Matt Rhodes used the opportunity to explain the world-building process in Dragon Age - while confirming that yes, you could find pasta in Thedas.

Pasta Is Canon In Dragon Age
“The Veilguard for us is really kind of a dream opportunity to go to places we’ve only ever heard reference to,” says Rhodes, referring to locations like Tevinter which we’ve never seen before.
“In going through the world-building process, and trying to build these things out not just as neat things from the IP, but also as if you’ve read about this stuff - you’ve got your own version in your head, you’ve imagined what it might be like and you’re probably hoping for something spectacular.”

He goes on to explain that the team has spent a lot of time thinking about the culture, fashion, landscape, and architecture of these new areas. He says this is in aid of making the locations feel “believable and lived in”.
“So, that’s my really long answer for yeah, I’m sure at least one place does have pasta,” he finishes.

I did actuallyreview the Dragon Age cookbookif you’re interested in Thedas cuisine. I’m afraid I mostly stuck with Ferelden delicacies though.
Now, if there was anywhere that would have pasta, where would it be? It would have to be Antiva, given how it is clearly inspired by Italy, at least from what we’ve heard about it in the games so far. We’ve never actually been to Antiva physically, but that might change in The Veilguard, based on what Rhodes is saying here. So, pasta might make its grand debut in a Dragon Age game after all.

In any case, we’ll find out for sure when Dragon Age: The Veilguard launches later this year.
