Shortly after sharing the statement, Dr DisRespect edited the message to remove any mention of the person he was in communications with being a minor. After this was pointed out in the replies, he added this back into the statement.
This comes shortly after more sources came forward with information on Dr DisRespect’s Twitch ban. Speaking toBloomberg, three anonymous sources say that Dr DisRespect was privately accused of exchanging “sexually explicit messages” with a minor. He is also accused of asking a minor about their plans to attend TwitchCon.
Dr DisRespect, real name Herschel Beahm, denies any criminal wrongdoing in his own statement.
“These were casual, mutual conversations that sometimes leaned too much in the direction of being inappropriate, but nothing more,” says Beahm. “Nothing illegal happened, no pictures were shared, no crimes were committed, I never even met the individual.
“I should have never entertained these conversations to begin with,” he continues. “That’s on me. That’s on me as an adult, a husband and a father. It should have never happened. I get it. I’m not perfect and I’ll fking own my st. This was stupid.”

The claim that Beahm tried to arrange a meeting with a minor at TwitchCon is also being reported byThe Verge. Here, they cite a “former Twitch employee”, who alleges that Beahm messaged the minor through Twitch’s old Whispers system,
The Timeline Of Dr DisRespect’s Ban From Twitch
Two of the sources speaking with Bloomberg say that the alleged messages were reported through Twitch, leading to his ban from the service in 2020. The reason behind this ban was never made public.
In 2021, Beahm said he had been made aware of the reason for his Twitch ban, but did not share it with fans. Instead,he sued Twitch. The lawsuit wassettled in 2022with neither party admitting to any wrongdoing.
Claims that Beahm was banned from Twitch for messaging minors were first made public last week. Beahm seeminglydenied this at the time, repeating that “no wrongdoing was acknowledged” in the lawsuit. Now, Beahm says that he is “not f**king going anywhere”, and will return to streaming after an “extended vacation”.
