Demon Slayer: Sweep the Board, aMario Partyclone that just released onNintendo Switchlast month, isn’t an exclusive after all as it’s coming toPlayStation,Xbox, and PC on July 17.

Typically, when a new anime gaming adaptation gets announced, it’s an arena fighter that’s, more often than not, hastily put together to capitalize on the anime’s success. I’m looking at you,Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash andMy HeroOne’s Justice. However, every now and again, an anime game has the chance to surprise audiences by doing something different.

That’s where Demon Slayer: Sweep the Board comes in. Originally released on the Nintendo Switch in late April, Sweep the Board iswhat you get when you combine the popular anime with the Mario Party series. The result is a game that features boards based on locations from the show, as well as minigames recreating beloved scenes. In other words, it’s pure mayhem. And mayhem can be fun

The Mayhem is Coming to PlayStation and Xbox Soon

As first reported by Gematsuvia Weekly Shonen Jump, the party game will be making its way to PlayStation, Xbox and PC on July 17, which comes as a surprise considering it was thought to be a Switch exclusive. That’s not all that’s coming with the larger release. Kanao Tsuyuri will join the game as a free character along with the previously announced Genya Shinazugawa.

It would mark the second Demon Slayer game to become widely available across all platforms after Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles by CyberConnect2 debuted in 2021. Sweep the Board! is also developed by CC2 with SEGA serving as the publisher.

As for the game itself, its minigames range from jump rope to a form of snowball fights, and other minigames you’d expect from a party game like this. However, there is a twist, as villains from the series can appear, which will then require a group effort to take them down, just like in the show itself.

It’s a good time to be an anime fan when games like this are able to have a place in the world. Now, if we could only get a proper Bleach game to come out…
