Dead Risingfans are sharing what they want theDeluxe Remasterto “completely” change about the original game, from Natalie’s obnoxious crying to survivor AI being overhauled.

It’s been along time since Dead Rising fans had any good news thrown their way, but that’s exactly what happened earlier this week when Capcom announced that the first and best game in theseries was going to get a “Deluxe Remaster” that basically looks like a remake. We didn’t get to see much of the project (aside from Frank’s ugly new mug), but it was enough for Dead Rising fans to wild with anticipation.

We won’t know just how much the Deluxe Remaster is going to change about the original gameuntil Capcom Next on July 1,but that hasn’t stopped fans on the Dead Rising subreddit from discussing what they want to see changed. As much as the first game is one of my all-time favourites, there’s a lot of great suggestions I’d love to see taken on board.

The thread on potential Deluxe Remaster changes was started by HATTY32232, who kicked things off with a great suggestion that the Convicts and their terrifying jeep don’t respawn once you’ve killed them. One of the strange oddities of the first game is that theConvicts respawn nearly every day at midnight, meaning they have to be dealt with all over again. At least you get to hear Gone Guru again, right?

Speaking of Gone Guru, the only request that I have for the Deluxe Remaster is that it brings back that iconic, haunting song.

One of the most important changes that the Deluxe Remaster should make to the original game is one that pops up in the thread a few times - survivor AI. As much as Dead Rising’s difficulty is part of the experience, the survivor AI is something that definitely needs to be reworked for the remake. Some other gameplay-focused changes include dodge roll controls and the camera no longer needing batteries.

Perhaps my favourite suggestion of the thread comes from Ratatou09, who simply suggested that “Natalie’s crying” be removed from the game. If you’ve played Dead Rising, then you’re no doubt aware that Natalie, one of the first survivors you can rescue, will spend most of her time in the safe room loudly crying. It sort of becomes background noise at a point, but god would it be good if it was gone.
