Summary
Just one day after announcing theDead Rising Deluxe Remaster,Capcomhas announced that the semi-remake will be shown off as part of Capcom Next on July 1.
Yesterday might have just seemed like a random Wednesday, but forDead Risingfans it was one of the most exciting days in quite some time. Out of nowhere and seemingly forgetting thatwe just had Summer Game Fest and multiple showcases,Capcom announced that Dead Rising is returning with a “deluxe remaster"that basically looks like a remake of the 2006 classic.
Sure,Frank West looks and soundsverydifferent than he did in the first Dead Rising, but it’s still just a relief to see the series return after so long and for the best game to be getting a major facelift. So far,we’ve only had the initial reveal trailerand some screenshots of the Deluxe Remaster, but that’s about to change in just a few days.
Earlier today,Capcom announced that it’s going to be holding a Summer Capcom Nextevent onJuly 1 at 3pm PT (11pm UK time, if you’re a fellow Brit). The event will be 25 minutes long and focus on three different titles, one of which is the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, which will have its “first details” revealed.
Capcom Next will also give us some new details on Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess and Resident Evil 7’s port for iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices.
It’s not clear what exactly is going to get showcased at Capcom Next, but it seems very likely that the majority of the runtime for the event will be focused on Dead Rising, since we’ve already seen plenty of Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess and Resident Evil 7 is just a mobile port that was already known about.
With that in mind, you can probably expect to see plenty of the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster on Monday, which could even potentially tell us when we can expect to play it. The trailer seemed to indicate that it was a 2024 release, but nothing has been properly confirmed so far.
