Summary
Dead by Daylighthas officially confirmed its collaboration with theTomb Raiderseries. On July 16,Lara Croftwill join the game as a survivor, as part of the Tomb Raider Chapter release.
This comes shortly after a leakerhinted that Lara would be the latest character to join Dead by Daylight, saying that a character who “embodies the meaning of Survivor” would be added to the game soon. Sure enough, this Lara model is clearly inspired by her “Survivor era” look, which debuted in 2013.

Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive shed some more light on the Tomb Raider crossover in the announcement.
“While stripped of her trusty bow and pistols, her greatest weapons remain intact,” reads the description. “Her unwavering tenacity, wealth of survival expertise, and bravery are represented with 3 unique Perks to balance the scales in her favor. "

While Lara is officially being added to Dead by Daylight on July 16, the developer adds that she’ll be available the a public test-build from today, as long as you’re playing throughSteam. So, if you’re on PC, you should be able to access the new character now, albeit in a pre-release form.
While some may be disappointed to see Dead by Daylight use the Survivor-era Lara design, it does fit in with the game’s aesthetic the best. I mean, “Survivor” is in the name there, it’s easy to see why the devs opted for this look.
With that said, the Tomb Raider series has been showing a lot of love to Lara’s original look recently. Not only did we get remasters of the first three games, but there’s alsoanewLara design that takes a lot of inspiration from her ’90s look. Just because we’re taking a bit of detour with Dead by Daylight, that doesn’t mean Classic Lara has been forgotten.
