Dave the Diver’s Godzilla DLC
WHERE TO PLAY
Dave the Diver’s Godzilla expansion adds the iconic monster to the game. Godzilla is back to finish a battle with rival monster Ebirah, and poor Dave is caught in the middle of it.
In typical Godzilla fashion, Dave the Diver’s DLC not only adds one kaiju to the previously somewhat relaxing diving roguelite-sushi restaurant sim, it adds two. The best Godzilla stories are the ones in which the massive lizard has a monster of similar size to go to war with, and in Dave the Diver, that opponent is Ebirah. A lobster kaiju that has popped up in previous Godzilla stories, in Dave the Diver, the two have battled before, and it seems Godzilla has returned for more.

If you’ve not played Dave the Diver at all yet but the arrival of its Godzilla DLC has piqued your interest, not only is it a relatively cheap game, but there are ways you’re able to get it for less right now, or even for free. The game is still a part of the PS Plus Extra library with no word on if or when it will be removed. If you want to play on PC you can get it for 25 percent off, and even at full price on Switch it’s still only $19.99.

Dave the Diver caused quite a stir last year as the industry debated whether it’s an indie game or not. The Game Awards started the debate as it nominated Dave the Diver for 2023’s best independent game. Despite that, the game’s director confirmed Dave the Diver is not an indie game. If you are looking for great indies to play, right now is a particularly good time to do so. BetweenAnimal Well,Little Kitty Big City, and Cryptmaster, there’s an indie game for just about everyone right now.
