Summary

TheTomb Raiderseries has received a lot of love recently, kicked off by the original trilogy’s remastered collection launching earlier this year. There was a hope that more new game announcements were coming today, or at least remaster announcements, due to the tease of a new collectible courtesy of Dark Horse. Turns out, for now at least, the Dark Horse tease was for a statue and nothing more. A statue that is now available to pre-order through Dark Horse Direct.

There was also a hope that today’s announcement might have been a Tomb Raider comic aftera similar Dark Horse tease led to a Returnal comic book revealin April.

Tomb Raider Lara Croft (Classic Era) PVC Statue

IGNhas shown off a first look at the PVC statue. Its design is modeled after Lara Croft from the original 1996 game. Well, not exactly as the video game icon isn’t quite as polygonal as she used to be 28 years ago. The action shot Lara has been caught in for the statue, however, is very much inspired by the first Tomb Raider game.

Croft is carefully making her way through an Egyptian tomb, trying to escape with the Scion artifact fragment in hand. The statue doesn’t necessarily have to look exactly like it does in the image below once you have one of your own. It comes with interchangeable pieces so you can change up its look and alter the scenario Croft finds herself in. The arm holding the fragment can be replaced with one where the hand is empty, and it also comes with flame and spear trap accessories you can incorporate into the scene to make it look like Lara is weaving her way past them.

Pre-Orders For Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft Statue Are Available At Dark Horse

Tomb Raider Lara Croft (Classic Era) PVC Statue

Dark Horse’s Tomb Raider statue depicts Lara Croft making her escape from an Egyptian tomb, based on the character’s design in the original game. The statue comes with interchangeable accessories you’re able to use to make it look like Lara is avoiding deadly traps as she goes.

The statue is 6.5 inches tall and a little more than seven inches wide. Not quite 19 inches of Venom, but in fairness it will cost you quite a lot less than the symbiote to make the Tomb Raider statue your own. Since it hasn’t been rolled into a collector’s edition - although the theories as to what this announcement was going to be suggest some would have preferred that - this particular video game statue is cheaper than most as you don’t have to buy a game to get it. $89.99 at Dark Horse Direct through the link above, and it’s expected to ship in early 2025.

Just because the statue hasn’t been accompanied by any Tomb Raider game news, that doesn’t mean there’s not an announcement on the horizon. The remastered trilogy was enough of a hit that a physical edition is now available for pre-order, andLara Croft was voted the most iconic video game character of all timeearlier this year, so the hunger for more from the Tomb Raider series is still there. Perhaps sales of this statue will further confirm that for Crystal Dynamics.
