As you enter the world ofWuthering Waves, you’ll have to get through quite a bit of story and level-ups to unlock most of the mechanics. However, you’re able to see a currency called Waveplate on the top right side as soon as you can walk around freely and open your map.

This is the auto-regenerating currency that gives you one Waveplate every six minutes as long as it’s not capped. Choosing where you spend this currency can heavily impact the growth of your account both in the early and the late game.

Early Game Waveplate Spending Guide

From the point when you start playing Wuthering Waves upuntil the point where you reach Union level 20 and ascend your SOL3 phase, you’re considered to bein the early game phase. During this phase, you won’t have a lot of places unlocked where you can spend these Waveplates, but the Simulation Challenges are what you should be looking for.

These challenges unlock a bit after you reach Jinzhou in the main story, and theyallow you to farm for character EXP, weapon EXP, and Shell Credits. This is where you should be spending all your Waveplates during the early game. It’s quite important to start spending them as soon as you unlock these challenges.

Don’t shy away from farming theseeven if you have a bunch of materials, you’ll start running out quite fast.

Mid-Game Waveplate Spending Guide

Once you get the SOL3 phase ascension, you’re considered to be in the mid-game all the wayup until you reach level 40 and get your next ascension. This is the place where most players make the mistake of prioritizing the wrong things to spend their Waveplates on since you have quite a few mechanics unlocked.

To put it simply, you should only be spending your Waveplates onboss challenges until you ascend your main characters(maximum three) and then farm the Forgery Challenges to upgrade their skills and weapons. It’s not worth farming boss materials for too many characters since you only get one to two drops.

If you’re reaching the end of the weak, you can dothree runs of your weekly bossesjust to not waste the attempts.

However, the most important thing to remember is tonot spend your Waveplates on Tacet Field challenges. This battle mode gives you some free echoes in exchange for your Waveplates, but you only have a chance of getting a maximum of purple rarity during this time. Eventually, you’ll have to upgrade to gold rarity, which makes this a huge waste.

Late Game Waveplate Spending Guide

After reaching level 40 and getting another SOL3 phase ascension, you’ll start dipping into the late game. At this point, you’llmost likely be done with the quests and world exploration, and you’ll start running out of various materials. The first priority here is to farm boss and Forgery materials for your main characters.

Once you’re done with that, you can spend some of yourWaveplate on Tacet Fields to get adecent build on these units. Following that, you can start farming for other characters and build your second and third teams.

You’ll also start getting gold echo dropsfrom the open world by this point, and it’s important to farm these every day as well.

During the late game, you’ll also want to ensure that you’re exhausting your weekly attempts sincethese materials are needed for character forte upgrades later on.
