One of the good things aboutWuthering Wavesis that it gives you multiple things to grind toward during the early game. While you have to grind the Union Levels to unlock character ascensions and difficult fights, you also have to upgrade your data bank level to get better echoes so that you can take on these fights.

The process of upgrading your data bank is entirely different from everything else in the game, and you’ll have to give it special attention. However, there’s a specific moment when you should start focusing your time working on it.

Wuthering Waves Mortefi Getting Data Bank EXP

How To Get Data Bank EXP

Wuthering Waves features a special collection system similar to Pokemon where you have achance of getting an echo whenever you defeat an overworld enemy. The chances of getting an echo and its rarity are both quite low at the start, but they get better as you upgrade your data bank.

However, you need tocollect these echoes to get data bank EXP in the first place. Whenever you gain a new echo or a new rarity of an echo you’ve already claimed, you’re able to get some data bank EXP. This starts at five each for green rarity and goes up to ten, 15, and 20 each for blue, purple, and golden rarity respectively.

Wuthering Waves Showing How To Track Missing Echoes

You will only start getting blue, purple, and golden echoes atlevels five, eight, and 15 respectivelyfrom normal enemies.

However, some special enemies are guaranteed to provide a certain rarity of echo, though these are tough to challenge.

Thankfully, you don’t completely have to rely on these low chances to upgrade your data bank. Every week, you get a certain number ofelevated chances for getting echoes from the world and weekly bosses. Moreover, you can encounter enemies with a white glow on them in the overworld sometimes, and these enemies are guaranteed to drop an echo.

At the end of the day, you can also farm Tacet Fields to have a chance at getting the echoes you’re missing, but this isn’t recommendedunless you’re Union Level 40since you have a very low chance of getting golden echoes through them.

Where To Find Missing Echoes

Going in the overworld and farming random enemies is easy enough as long as you’re getting data bank exp every time you claim one. However, eventually, you’ll reach a point where you’veunlocked the maximum current rarity of most echoes, and you’ll no longer get experience when you claim them again.

In these situations, you have to hunt for specific enemies where you’re missing the highest rarity. This can be done byheading over to the second tab in your data bank and scrolling to the bottom. Track the bottom echo and you may start following the marker until you get their highest rarity before repeating the process for another one.
