First Civilization 7 Trailer Revealed At Summer Game Fest
The trailer is purely cinematic and doesn’t do much more than confirm that the next game in the series is in development. It does set the tone though, and announces the first new game in the series in almost a decade.
Civilization 7 doesn’t have a specific release date outside of that vague 2025 launch window, but it can be added to your wishlist on Steam already.
Civilization 7’s existence leaked ahead of time, as the publisher, 2K Games, accidentally shared the logo on its website. It was quickly removed, but not before it was shared around online, spreading the news that a new Civilization game was on the way. We only just got the announcement trailer though, so this is all brand-new footage.

Awebsitefor Civilization 7 went live after the reveal, confirming that it will launch on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. However, the Switch store page doesn’t exist, and given that this is a 2025 release, it’s possible that this icon is a placeholder for the Switch 2, which is expected to launch next year too.
The website also tells us to expect a full gameplay reveal this August, so this might narrow down the release window a bit. We’re told that this new trailer will go over the “new features and innovations” introduced in Civilization 7. Given the timing, this could be shown off as part of Gamescom.
