Ubisoftis once again insisting thatBeyond Good and Evil 2is in active development, as yet another showcase season passes without any news on the sequel. This is despite it now being 16 years since Beyond Good and Evil 2 was announced, having first been revealed all the way back in 2008.
Ubisoft’s latest reassurance about the long-awaited sequel doesn’t come with a new trailer or even screenshots, just a tweet. In fact, this comment comes as part of a thread about a different release entirely, Beyond Good and Evil - 20th Anniversary Edition,which launches tomorrow.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 Is “Still In Development”
Unfortunately, we’re not getting much more information than this. It’s unclear just how far in development Beyond Good and Evil 2 is, or when we can expect a new trailer. However, at the very least, Ubisoft is clearly aware that fans want more information, as it is yet again reassuring us that the game is being made.
Ubisoft previously commented on Beyond Good and Evil 2’s developmentback in January 2023, confirming that it wouldn’t be part of a wave of game cancellations. However, since then, we’ve still been left waiting for more news.

While a follow-up to Beyond Good and Evil was announced back in 2008, the game as we know it wasonly unveiled in 2017.
In 2022,Beyond Good and Evil 2 became the longest-delayed game ever, taking over from Duke Nukem Forever. Of course, Duke Nukem Forevereventuallylaunched, so that isn’t necessarily the kiss of death for the project.

Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary Edition launches tomorrow. It will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The re-release comes with new features, like a 60 fps performance and new cosmetics, but the original release will still be available on storefronts.
