Farming isn’t the only thing you may do inStardew Valley.Those looking for more daring adventures can explore the various dungeons and mines to get valuable loot and resources. Enemies are also lurking in these areas, and you’ll need to be well-equipped in order to fight them and survive.

As you make your way into the lower levels of the various caves you find, you’ll encounter stronger monsters. To stay alive, you may equip various types of gear that will provide you with better stats. One piece of gear you can put on is a trinket, which is a rare type of loot.

How To Unlock Trinkets

to start getting trinkets as loot, you’ll need to firstunlock Combat Mastery. This is one of the rewards that you’re able to unlock in theMastery Cave.

The Mastery Cave can be found in thesoutheast corner of Cindersap Forest, and you’ll need to reachlevel ten in all five skillsin order to unlock its entrance.

The five skills you need to master to open the Mastery Cave arefarming, fishing, foraging, combat, and mining.

Once you open the door to the Mastery Cave, you’ll findfive pillars inside. Each pillar representsmastery of a skill, and Combat Mastery is on the pillar with theimage of a sword.

Tounlock the rewards on each of these pillars, you’ll need to clear a level of mastery points first. The total mastery points you have at any point in time can be viewed using thepedestal in the center of the cave.

To earn mastery points, you simply need toperform any action that will give you experience in any of the five skills. You can only start earning mastery points after opening the Mastery Cave.

‘The final path’ pedestal will show youhow many more points you need to complete a mastery level. Once you get enough points, you’ll receive a notification that says’You have reached a new level of understanding…'.

After completing a level of mastery points, head over tothe pillar for Combat Mastery. Unlock this pillar, and you’ll be able to start finding trinkets intreasure chests, monster drops, and container drops.

The only trinket you can obtain differently isMagic Hair Gel, which is an item you canpurchase from Alex during theDesert Festival.

How To Find Trinkets

Trinkets are a rare type of drop. There is only a0.4 percent base chancethat you’ll find one as a drop fromdefeating monsters or destroying crates and barrels. You have better odds finding one in aSkull Cavern treasure chest room, but there’s still only a0.63 percent base chance.

Find More Trinkets By Beating Stronger Enemies

Stronger monsters have ahigher chance of dropping a trinketwhen defeated. There is an increase of0.001 percent for every point of health that a monster has. That being said, you should farm for trinkets in areas with sturdier enemies.

To find stronger enemies, go tolower levels of mines and dungeons. Make sure to alsounlock more locationsthat will give you access to more challenging areas, if you want to find more powerful foes.

You’re also more likely to find trinkets bydefeating flying enemies whose max health is over 150. You increase your odds of finding a trinket by0.2 percentwith these monsters. Specifically, you’ll want themore dangerous types of flying enemies.

You can also change weaker flying enemies to their dangerous versionsusing the Shrine of Challenge. This will make additional flying enemiesmore likely to drop a trinket.

Dangerous Mines - Floors 11-29

The Shrine of Challenge is areward for completing theDanger In The Deep quest. You’ll find the shrine on the120th floor of the mines, and turning it on will make fighting enemies more challenging.

It will also makedangerous versions of certain monstersappear the day after it is switched on.

Increase Your Luck To Farm For Trinkets Easily

You’ll have an easier time finding trinkets if you’re luckier. Make sure to hunt for trinkets on a daywhen your daily luck is good. you may see what type of daily luck you have by watchingthe Fortune Teller on your television.

Make sure to alsoequip aLucky Ring, which grants you anadditional point of luck. You can find this item inthe Skull Cavern or by panning.

Chase Danger For Better Odds Of Finding Trinkets

The odds offinding trinkets in destructible crates and barrelswill also depend on which dungeon you visit and how deep you traverse into each of them.

The Mines will give you thelowest odds out of all the dungeons. The Quarry Mine gives thehighest odds for the least amount of exploration, but it will also havefewer cratesto destroy.

The Skull Cavern will give you thebest chances of finding trinkets in crates. For every deeper floor you enter,your odds increaseby a steady amount.

The best way to find trinkets is to head out ona day that grants you the highest daily luck. You should also stock up onfood that grants you luck buffs.

The Skull Cavern is the best place for trinket-farmingbecause of the strength of the monsters that appear there. Also, you’ll find several crates and barrels to destroy on different levels. Not to mention that your odds get better as you godeeper into the dungeon.

The biggest thing that sets this dungeon apart is thetreasure floorsthat you may find. These can appearon floors below level ten, and you’re more likely to encounter them withincreased luck. These floors also grant you thehighest odds of finding a trinket.
