Honestly, the Chicago Cubs are more of a sleeper team instead of a no doubt championship contender. After barely missing out on the playoffs in 2023, the Cubs seemed geared up and ready to contend in 2024.

Byron Buxton in MLB The Show 24

Even though the Cubs may lack any huge-name star power and extremely high overall players, they make up for it by having loads of solid ball players. The pitching might not be exceedingly impressive, but with stellar defense, solid hittingand speed, the Cubs are an overall well-rounded squad.

Texas Rangers Celebrate World Series in MLB The Show 24

The Baltimore Orioles were unquestionably the breakout club in 2023. It was predicted that the O’s would be a contender with all their outstanding young talent, but few expected it would happen this soon.

It’s improbable that the Os top their record from the previous year, but in both MLB The Show 24 and in real life, they boast a wealth of new stars who will no doubt only get stronger with time. Expect MLB The Show 25 will have the O’s ranked even higher.

Before the 2023 Playoffs began, few could’ve envisioned that the Arizona Diamondbacks, who narrowly slithered into the postseason, would fight into the World Series. Despite falling in five games to the Rangers, there’s still plenty for Dbacks fans to be optimistic about.

Mookie Betts in MLB The Show 24

The Diamondbacks sport immensely impressive contact batters such as Corbin Carroll and Ketel Marte. For a team which, going into the previous game, probably had middling expectations, their rankings in MLB The Show 24 are remarkable.

If there were a division which sticks out like a sore thumb, it would be the AL Central. The Minnesota Twins may scream “playoffs”, but they are actually quite full of quality ball players. In MLB The Show 24, the Twins are a team defined by power.

Much like the Cubs, the Twins don’t have a single clear MVP-level superstar, but they are especially deep both in pitching and hitting. If you’re a fan ofhitting home runs, the Twins are a good choice for you.

When it was revealed that the Blue Jay’s first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. would grace the cover of MLB The Show 24, it was somewhat surprising. Of course, Guerrero Jr. is an adept hitter, but there are more suitable choices for cover athlete.

With that being said, the Toronto Blue Jays remain a powerful all-around team with great hitting and even better pitching. With pitcher Kevin Gausman and shortstop Bo Bitchette backing Guerrero Jr., the Blue Jays are definitely a team worth selecting.

The Texas Rangers became World Series champions for the first time in their franchise history in 2023. It was awesome to see a team not only finally reach the mountaintop, but do so by spending big bucks on star power. As such, in MLB The Show 24, The Rangers are stud-filled.

Shortstop Corey Seager spearheads the Rangers with a 98 overall, but he is far from the only noteworthy name, with Adolis Garcia, Jacob DeGrom, and Marcus Semien also being ninety overall or higher. Suffice to say, the 2023 World Series champs are stacked in 2024.

The Houston Astros are an easy team to dislike. Even as the 2017 cheating scandal becomes more distant, the fact that they stole a World Series trophy will always be a part of the Astros identity.

Unfortunately, the Astros are also a team with an absurd torrent of talent. The Astro hitting ranks firmly in the upper echelon of baseball and, with solid all around pitching, the Astros continue to be a thorn in the side of the league in MLB The Show 24.

The Philadelphia Phillies are a fun team to watch. So it stands to reason that they’re also a fun team to play as. The amount of talent on this squad would be enough for most teams to top the division, but sharing air with the Braves makes life difficult for the Phillies

Of course, it’s Bryce Harper who’s leading the charge for the Phillies going into 2024, but he’s not alone. With Trea Turner and Zack Wheeler backing him up, the Phillies feature superb pitching and exactly outstanding hitting.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have no doubt become the most popular and most hated team in MLB.With the inclusion of Shohei Ohtani(gambling controversy not withstanding) and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, the Dodgers are set for another strong showing in 2024.

In MLB The Show 24 and much like previous games, the Dodgers are stacked. Not only do the Dodgers have Ohtani and Yamamoto, but also Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Will Smith…do I really need to keep going?

I mean, what else can be said about the Atlanta Braves that hasn’t already been said? From pitching to hitting and everything in between, they are loaded from top to bottom. Despite not winning it all in 2023, the target remains high in 2024.

In MLB The Show 24, the Atlanta Braves mirror their real-life counterpart in their winning ways. First in contact and power and second in pitching, the Braves are without question the best team in PlayStation’s label baseball series.
