The world ofHonkai Star Railis filled with stellar characters for players to attempt to add to their team.Boothillis no exception to this, with a kit built to deal with devastating amounts of damage. As a character on the path ofThe Hunt, Boothill excels at dealing lots of damage to one enemy at a time.

As Boothill is amain DPSwho dealsphysical damage, his kit revolves a lot around theBreakmechanic - making him ideal for fighting bosses. Boothill makes a great addition to any team as his ability to applyweakness to physical damageto enemies allows him to almost disregard recommended elements for battles. If you haven’t got many DPS characters, Boothill has got you covered.

Boothill, Ruan Mei, Bronya, and Gallagher from Honkai Star Rail

Best Team: Break

Boothill’s best team revolves around utilizing support characters to achieve the break effect as much as possible. With both Bronya and Ruan Mei in the fight, Boothill benefits from bothextra actionsand adelayed weakness break recoveryfor enemies.

Bronya is Boothill’s best supportin the game, thanks to her ease with grantingextra actions. It’s best to get Bronya’sE1,as it allows for betterSkill Point generation, meaning you’re more likely to be able to give a bonus action to your team.

Boothill, Ruan Mei, Asta, and Gallagher from Honkai Star Rail

With Boothill’s normal attacks being particularly strong, Bronya’s kit is his best match. If you’ve gotBut the Battle Isn’t Over as her light cone, then she’ll get extra skill points every time she uses her Ultimate.

Bronya essentially allows for almostunstoppable attacksfrom Boothill, making theBreakeffect even quicker to achieve.

Boothill, Ruan Mei, Trailblazer, and Gallagher from Honkai Star Rail

Bronya works best if she’s slightly slower than Boothill, allowing her move to take place one or two turns after his so she can grant him additional actions.

Anyfree-to-play Abundance characterworks well with Boothill. However, as Gallagher also scales with theBreakeffect, he makes a good addition to this team. It’s best to pull for Gallagher until you’ve got hisE4, as his healing capabilities then increase even more - as well as theduration of the Debufffrom his Ultimate.

Boothill, Natasha, Trailblazer, and Gallagher from Honkai Star Rail

In order to make the most of Gallagher, it’s recommended to equip him with theNight of FrightLight Cone. By having this, he can use his Ultimate more and consequently apply theBesotteddebuff on enemies more. Once enemies are affected by his Debuff, they’ll take moreBreak damage- paving the way for a Boothill smackdown.

Ruan Mei is a very strong support as she’s able to delay an enemy recovering from theWeakness Breakeffect, as well as provide a lot of other helpful buffs. If you’re lucky enough to have pulled her twice and have herE1, her Ultimate allows your team to ignore20 percent of the enemy’s defense. Her skill also enhances the entire party’s ability to achieve theBreakeffect, something that works perfectly with Boothill.

Watchmaker, Master of Dream Machinationsis the best relic set for Ruan Mei in this team, as it allows her to get the 180 percent Break Effect she needs to maximise the effects of her buffs.

Bronya is the best support for Boothill, but if you’re not a fan then Robin can make a good alternative - although she isn’t going to be able to grant as many actions as quickly as Bronya.

Super-Speed Break

This team works similarly to Boothill’s best team, except swaps out Bronya for Asta - therefore, is a littleless reliant on Gacha luck.

Asta works well with Boothillas her whole kit focuses aroundgranting speed to allies, allowing more actions for your party - therefore more Break damage for Boothill. If you’re adding her to your team, you’ll want to focus onEnergy Regenerationwhen building her to maximise the amount of times she can boost speed.

We’d recommend theBut the Battle Isn’t OverLight Coneto ensure she has good energy regeneration and her Ultimate can be used repeatedly with ease. Her best Eidolon isE6, which prolongs the duration of all her buffs.

If you’ve built Boothill nicely, he won’t really need Asta’s Attack buff, but her Speed buff will serve him well.

For your Relics and Ornament, you’ll want to give herMessenger Traversing HackerspaceandBroken Keel. The former will not only increase Asta’s speed, but also the speed of all of her allies whenever she uses her Ultimate. If usingBroken Keel, make sure Asta’sEffect RES is at 30 percentin order to benefit from the ornament’sten percent increase to Crit Damage.

Super Break

This team revolves aroundSuper Breakdamage, in addition to regular Break damage. If you’re not aware, Super Break damage can only be achieved by theHarmony Trailblazer, and it scales with both thebreak effect statandcharacter level. A free-to-play character, Harmony Trailblazer is a must-have for this team.

Harmony Trailblazer can be added to your teamonce you’ve completed the“Beauty and Destruction.”mission, added during the 2.2 update. If you want to unlock the full potential of this character, unlock theirE4to maximise the Break effect you can achieve.

You’ll need to equip them with thePast Self in MirrorLight Cone as this increases the wearer’s Break Effect by a whopping60 percent. After using an Ultimate, all allies get a24 percent boost to their damage for three turns. As with Ruan Mei,Watchmaker, Master of Dream Machinationsis the best relic set here, as it provides additional Break Effect boosts to other party members.

Talia, Kingdom of Banditryis the ornament that should be used in this build, as it can give a break effect boost ofup to 20 percent.

Trailblazer must have a speed stat of at least 145 in order to get the maximum boost from Talia, Kingdom of Banditry.

On top of this, Harmony Trailblazer can give Boothill more damage on top of the Break Damage he already deals, withSuper Breakdamage. Trailblazer’s Ultimate increases the damage your team deals againstWeakness Brokenenemies.

Free to Play Boothill Team

This is a verybeginner-friendlyteam, thanks to its dual healer setup. However, in a build like this, most of the healing would be done by Natasha - with Gallagher focusing on applying theBesotteddebuff to enemies.

Natasha can be added to your team whilst completing the"Lying in Rust"mission. However, any other free-to-play sustain character will work wellwith Boothill to provide a bit of security. In addition to her being the easiest healer to acquire, you don’t really need to rely on any Eidolons to build her - so long as you prioritize herSkillandUltimatewhen upgrading traces.

If you want to give her a bit more power as a member of your team, equip her with theNight of Fright Light Coneto heal allies every time someone uses an Ultimate ability.

With her on your team, you’ll want her to have theMessenger Traversing Cyberspacerelic set, as this will provide a speed buff for your entire team - meaning more Break damage for Boothill.

This team could also have Natasha swapped out for Asta, if you’re finding you don’t need two healers and want your Boothill to pack more of a punch.

As with the other team compositions, Gallagher will provide more healing for your characters, as well as debuffs to allow Boothill to deal even more damage. Harmony Trailblazer should be equipped with theDance! Dance! Dance!Light Cone for a better free to play experience. Whenever the Trailblazer uses their ultimate, in addition to theBackup Dancerbuff, all allies' actions will beadvanced forward by 16 percent.
