Summary
Final Fantasy 15unfolds as an epic tale of a world on the brink of annihilation. What begins as a simple road trip for Prince Noctis to wed Lady Lunafreya quickly escalates into a heroic journey to dispel the forces of darkness and restore peace to Eos.
While the official customizations withinFinal Fantasy15offer a taste of personalization, fans wanted more. They took it upon themselves to add their own flavor to the game through an array of mods. Square Enix endorsed the endeavor by enabling mod support through theSteam Workshop, focusing on outfit, weapon, and character skins rather than quality of life mods.

10Chocobo Chick Buddy
This adorable chick accessory was created specifically for Comrades, Final Fantasy 15’s multiplayer expansion. Designed for male player characters, the chick accessory adds a delightful touch of whimsy to an otherwise bleak and intense story, bringing a light-hearted element to the game.
The chick is likely inspired by Sazh’s baby chocobo chick, Chocolina, from Final Fantasy 13.
Sadly, the chick does not have its own animation and functions similarly to a static hat, helmet, or cosplay accessory. It remains fixed in place, adding visual appeal without dynamic movement.
9Leviathan Car
The mighty Leviathan is a goddess of the seas who has rested beneath the waves for hundreds of years. Answering the Oracle’s call to serve the chosen king, Leviathan’s power and majesty make her an awe-inspiring force. In a unique and imaginative twist, this mod transforms the Regalia into the mighty Leviathan herself, offering Prince Noctis a truly epic mode of transportation.
Forget the measly Leviathan-inspired car wrap — this mod elevates Prince Noctis' journey by allowing him to travel on the back of the Hydrean herself! However, the chocobros don’t grasp the difference betweenriding astride a mighty godand driving a classic car. They still attempt to ‘drive’ Leviathan using a steering wheel, resulting in funny and often bewildering interactions. We don’t even want to know where Ignis stores his Ebony.
8Cindy’s Mechanic Outfit
Cid’s grease monkey granddaughter, Cindy, is single-handedly responsible for keeping the Regalia in tip-top shape throughout the chocobros' adventures, especially when Noctis is at the wheel. While she looks stunning in her iconic shorts and crop top, you really have to wonder how practical the ensemble is while working around the garage.
The mechanic outfit mod provides Cindy with a more practical option for her wardrobe. Her new look includes a tank top, jeans, and sturdy boots, all of which are better suited for messy mechanical work. The mod translates well in cutscenes, both in the Final Fantasy 15 base game and Comrades, though her face is cast in deep shadow during in-world gameplay.
7Leviathan Gun
The Hydrean is quite the source of inspiration for Final Fantasy 15 mods. This Leviathan-themed double-barrel pistol was originally created to pair witha mod that replaces Prompto for Lunafreya. The gun’s intricate design, featuring a pearl-white color scheme and elegant wings, pairs beautifully with Lunafreya’s regal appearance. That said, Prompto also rocks the delicate weapon.
The Leviathan boasts an impressive 260 Attack, making it stronger than any of the guns available in the base game. This high attack power makes it a formidable weapon in combat, allowing you to deal significant damage to enemies.
6Half-Life Armor
Consider this scenario: it’s a Friday night, and you’re ready to game. But do you want to play Final Fantasy 15 or Half-Life? With the Half-Life Costume mod, you can experience the best of both worlds! As an officially licensed mod, it seamlessly integrates into the game, ensuring the physics and mechanics are on par when the armor is equipped.
The Half-Life armor buffs Noctis' HP, giving him a slight edge in battles without overpowering the gameplay. The HP boost places the armor just below the Royal Raiment gear in terms of official content, providing a balanced improvement.
5Ignis' Elementals
As Prince Noctis' advisor and personal attendant, Ignis prides himself on his professionalism, reflected in his sophisticated attire. However, even a person as composed as Ignis occasionally needs to let his hair down. The Elementals mod provides the perfect solution, allowing Ignis to trade his formal suit for a stylish ensemble consisting of a trendy shirt, vest, and fitted jeans.
From a strategic approach, Elementals is ideal when facing opponents that rely heavily on magic. The outfit is designed to resist all elemental attacks while increasing Ignis' MP. But when challenging opponents who rely on physical strength and close-range combat, this attire leaves Ignis more vulnerable than other mods.
4Versus XIII Noctis
Final Fantasy 15 began life as a spin-off game titled Final Fantasy Versus 13. While the game developers ultimately decided to make Final Fantasy 15 its own, independent game, Noctis' original Versus XIII attire remained in the source code. Spooky-Majora melded the original plans with Noctis' Prince Fatigues, accounting for the game’s physics engine while reviving the outfit.
Despite this careful integration, the trench coat occasionally glitches during battles, though these issues are generally minimal and do not significantly detract from the game’s immersion.
The Versus XIII attire is particularly beneficial for Noctis when engaging enemies that are susceptible to magic, such as Deathclaw and Ifrit. The attire enhances Noctis' magical abilities, allowing you to leverage powerful spells to exploit these enemies' weaknesses effectively. However, the Versus XIII attire is not without its limitations. Noctis' primary strength lies in his melee abilities, which are less emphasized when wearing this outfit. The reduced focus on Noctis’s physical combat skills makes it a less versatile choice for general exploration and encounters.
Don’t mistake the Versus XIII mod for the Versus XV mod. The Versus XIII mod features a shorter trench coat and has better physics.
3Captain America’s Shield
Captain America’s shield is more than just a piece of equipment; it’s a symbol of the Captain’s resiliency, loyalty, and determination. Gladio, as Prince Noctis’s sworn shield, strives to be an unbreakable companion. His character arc throughout Final Fantasy 15 makes him the perfect wielder of the vibranium shield.
While the Captain’s shield does not boast high attack or strength, its bulletproof defenses make it invaluable on the battlefield, especially against the forces of Niflheim. The main downside to the shield is that it interrupts the immersion of the world. Captain America’s shield, with its distinctive red, white, and blue design, stands in stark contrast to the more subdued aesthetic typically found in Eos.
2Worldwanderer Collection
The Worldwanderer collection is one of the most overpowered outfit mods available for Final Fantasy 15 in the Steam Workshop. It provides a significant stat buff for the chocobros while transforming their appearance with a practical and stylish ensemble: each character dons a sleeveless shirt, a bandanna, jeans, practical boots, and a side holster bag. The casual outfit mod gives the chocobros a more practical and down-to-earth look compared to their default attires.
Flagrum is amodding toolcreated by Exineris, a modding Discord channel.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the casual outfit mod provides a substantial power boost in battle, increasing all the characters' offensive abilities. This makes it an excellent choice if you want to dominate battles with ease, particularly for post-game challenges.
1Velociraptor Mount
Move over, Jurassic Park — there’s a new dinosaur in town! Archaeological evidence suggests that modern birds evolved from dinosaurs like Tyrannosaurus rex and Velociraptor. It’s no surprise, then, that a chocobo would serve as the perfect base for the fearsome raptor mod.
Traversing the landscapes of Eos on the back of your (hopefully) tame Velociraptor is such a thrill! This mod transforms your adorable chocobo into a formidable raptor with striking red and black coloration, menacing spines, and a detailed face. The physics pair perfectly with the original chocobo mechanics, save for a lack of tail movement while running. You can even race your dinosaur in the Chocobo Races. What a clever girl!
