Summary

Fighting your way throughAnother Crab’s Treasurecan be quite a challenge, but you will need to master it to get back your beloved shell. As you play, you’ll collect Purple Crystals, which can be used in your skill tree to unlock new skills to help you out. Some skills also require previous ones to be unlocked first.

You can learn new skills in the Moon Snail, and the first skill you gain is Shelleportation, allowing you to teleport back again. From there, you can branch off in three directions, picking the skillset you find most valuable. These are divided up so that you can easily pick a path that best suits your playstyle.

7Self-Repair

Heal Your Shell

When it comes to taking damage in Another Crab’s Treasure, your health pool isn’t that big, even with a cool temporary shell. You can carry a few kelp hearts to bring it back up, but often you will find yourself needing a little extra boost.

Self-Repair heals your current shell, allowing you to hide inside and take damage, which is then restored. This is extremely useful when it comes to defending yourself and holding on to better shells that you have found on the ocean’s floor. This skill is down the Way of the True Crab and has two unlocks before you get to it.

6Riposte

Counter-Attacks

Riposte isn’t a hard skill to unlock, as it’s two down the Way of the True Crab route. This attack allows you to upgrade your parry. When you unlock this skill, you are then able to counter-attack after you parry your enemies, dealing a massive blow. This can additionally cause your enemy to be off balance, so they won’t be fighting you back so quickly if they are off balance to start with!

As it’s so close to the first few unlocks, there is really no reason to not invest in Riposte, unless you absolutely suck at parrying - and if so, you likely have other problems to address first.

5Elusive Prey

They Cannot Fight You

Elusive Prey is a pretty cheap skill to purchase from the skill tree. In the Way of the Hermit route, it’s only blocked by one skill. Elusive Prey allows you to become invincible for a few sections after your shells is broken off, giving you a bit of a moment to re-strategise mid-fight.

If you do start attacking while you are invincible, this effect will wear off early, but if you need to run and hide instead of continuing to fight or if there is a new shell nearby, you can use this skill to get to it. Elusive Prey can be quite the lifesaver in fights.

4House Warming

Helps With Spells

House Warming allows you to use your specific shell’s given spell once without having to gain Umami to charge it up. This can really help when in bigger boss fights, even more so if you lose your shell and need to fight back quickly.

There are lots of shells dotted around, even when you are currently inmajor boss fights, so being able to quickly change shell and then do a massive attack without needing to charge up your Umami can really help in more challenging fights.

Dispatch

Knock Them Down

Dispatch is a skill at the end of the Way of the Predator skill tree, where you can capsize an enemy. This allows you to flip them over, so that they cannot attack back, and reveals the weak point of whoever you are attacking.

Once they are capsized, it’s easy work to destroy them, so that you may then find yourself free to go on your way. It’s one of my personal favorite attacks, just because they cannot attack you back.

3Circle of Life

Umami Charge

Circle of Life skill, which is at the end of the Wway of Hermit upper path on the skill tree, allows you to restore an Umami Charge when you defeat an enemy with an Umami-based attack, and will boost your MSG. This is very helpful if you master Umami-based attacks, as you can find yourself back in the action much faster.

Though it’s one of the more challenging skills to execute, when you do use it, having that charge back right after a kill makes it easier to take on groups of monsters orbigger bosseswithin Another Crab’s Treasure.

2Spearfishing

Another New Attack

Spearfishing allows you to throw your fork and reel in enemies, if you hit them, but does cost a Barbed Hook in the process. This skill is quite easy to unlock, down the Way of the Predator route, and can bring enemies closer to you. It’s ideal for smaller ones, though can be used on larger enemies. However, they will fight back.

Though this attack does take a little getting used to, once you have mastered the ability to throw out your fork and bring it in, you can start more quickly eliminating enemies and having the upper hand on their attacks as well.

1Scrap Hammer

A Big Attack

If you are more into dealing a lot of damage, unlocking Scrap Hammer will allow you to use a charged attack, where your shell will be put on the end of your fork, creating a hammer. You can use your current shell to do this, which can in turn really mess up an enemy.

The Scrap Hammer skill is down the Way of the Predator route and has two unlocks before you make it to it, being on the top side of the Skewer skill. It’s very useful if you find yourself fighting a lot, as you can deal some devastating blows.
