Summary
Dust off your medical degree, director, because the intergalactic hospital management game Galacticare is sending you a whole station full of patients. It’s your job as the new director of Galacticare, along with your robotic assistants and an eccentric CEO, to keep patients and staff as happy and healthy as possible while maintaining the state of your orbiting hospital station.
There are 11 main levels to the game, with several bonus sandbox levels where you can earn cosmetic rewards and decorations for your hospital. The most important rewards come through the main storyline in the form of room upgrades, different robotic and intelligent devices that can be placed in your treatment rooms and corridors to boost bonuses. Get the right combination of the very best ones, and you’ll have a five-star hospital in no time.

10Bio Analyser
Like A Robotic Study Buddy
The Bio Analyser increases the amount of research a treatment room generates, so it’s especially helpful in the rooms that are being focused on the most in one particular map. For instance, if you have a huge influx of patients going through several of your Laser Surgery rooms like in Chapter 2, it’s best to put the Bio Analyser in those.
Recruiting doctors with negatives to research is a lot more comfortable than grabbing one that might accidentally kill a bunch of patients, so the Bio Analyser also helps balance out that negative effect. Of course, adding a Research Lab will have your research speeding along just fine.

9Critter Lure
It’s Weirdly Satisfying
Not all of the little space creatures that invade your space station are harmful like the laxites and gnashers. Some of them, like the Solark and Loamble, reward you with different types of currency for giving them a squish. The pests are a lot easier to find and eliminate, though, and it can be time-consuming to chase these things all over your hospital.
The Critter Lure offers an alternative to the legwork that can be placed multiple times in the open areas of your hospital. This corridor upgrade attracts the shiny little money-critters and keeps them hanging around one spot, where they’re much easier to find and grab.

8Alacrity Engine
Pick Up That Speed, Doctors!
The Alacrity Engine upgrade serves as both a bonus to treatment time and a remedy for those doctors of your who are just a bit slower than the other ones. According to its description, the Alacrity Engine actually slows down the whole rest of the universe around the treatment room, but it probably doesn’t have any adverse effects on the space-time continuum.
This treatment room upgrade is a big relief when your queue starts to get out of control, and you don’t have the money and space to build another room. Sometimes, when the pressure is on, you just have to go with a little time-altering to get things done.

7Bio-Stasis Beacon
No Dying In The Waiting Room, Please
Being the director of a hospital hurtling through space is a big job, and you can’t be everywhere at once. Luckily, your small army of stationary and mobile robots can. The Bio-Stasis Beacon goes wherever you’ve made your waiting room, and it reduces the health decay of patients within its healing radius.
Some patients and conditions decay faster than others, and it’s pretty unsettling for patients and staff to have someone go out in the middle of the waiting room. If your Recovery Ward is full and you don’t want to run around in circles dousing everyone with stabilizing solution, you’ll want to get a few of these.

6Regenerative Nanites
A Little More Care In Your Healthcare
Of course, the goal of Galacticare is to keep all of your patients alive, but sometime accidents happen. That’s where the treatment room upgrade Regenerative Nanites comes to the rescue. Whether it’s the doctor’s fault, the room quality, or an act of chaos, the Regenerative Nanites will boost healing and help reduce the number of deaths that occur in that room.
For conditions that are particularly unstable, or treatment rooms that might be a little aggressive, the Regenerative Nanites upgrade will help level that out. It’s also a great preventative measure if you’re trying to get through the game without losing anyone at all. This, combined with the other healing items, will ensure that your patients keep on going.

5Cleanliness Beacon
Keeps HEAL From Yelling At You
A lot of messes can happen in hospitals, and a hospital in space is even messier. From critters to conditions, there are a lot of things that can cause some pretty gnarly messes on your space station. There’s only so much your Medibots can handle at one time, especially when an event happens that trashes your whole hospital.
The Cleanliness Beacon can be put down anywhere in your corridors or any waiting rooms you’ve made to help combat trash and fluids. These will scan for garbage and refuse and eliminate it, and they’ll also take care of any remains that your Medibots can’t get to.

4Efficiency Regulator
A Hospital That Funds Itself
Running out of money will stop your progress right in its tracks. As soon as you go into debt, the timer starts counting down the time you have left until your hospital is done for. Hunting down Solarks and shoving vending machines into every nook and cranny might not be enough to save your finances.
The Efficiency Regulator can be placed in any treatment room, but it’s best to lay it down in one that’s getting a lot of traffic. This upgrade allows a treatment room to generate a credit boost while it’s being used, and placing it down near the beginning of a level can help ensure that you’ll make it through each wave without going under.

3Telepad
Much Faster Than Walking There
Patient health decay and a tight roster of doctors can have you worrying about the distance between the different areas of your hospital. A walk from one area to another can feel like a lifetime, especially when patients' lives are actually on the line.
The Telepad upgrade goes in your corridor areas, and you can place as many as you can afford to make or buy. This object allows patients, doctors, and canisters to teleport from one pad to another, shortening the time it takes to cross the whole hospital to just a couple of seconds.

2Holo-Doc Emitter
The Medical Degree Is A Hologram, Too
If you’re short on doctors, or you’ve got too many doctors that take breaks after every single patient, you might need to resort to drastic measures. Hiring a bunch more doctors and building extra Staff Lounges is always an option, but that isn’t always in the Galacticare spending budget.
Your treatment rooms with the most absent doctors can benefit from a Holo-Doc Emitter upgrade. The doctor is out? Now the doctor is a hologram. The treatment might not be as high-quality as the real doctor, but at least it’s still getting the job done and getting patients through. This upgrade is also helpful if you don’t have the credits or space to hire a doctor for a newly built room.

1Short-Range Teleporter
The Doctor Will See You Immediately
Sometimes, you just don’t have the time to wait for patients to walk from the waiting area to the treatment room, or you want to get rid of the line at your reception desk. Patients could move over to the Telepads to get themselves from room-to-room, but there’s an even more direct route.
The Short-Range Teleporter is an upgrade for your treatment rooms, and it does exactly what it describes. This device beams the next patient in line straight into the treatment room, reducing the time in between patients by a huge margin. If you’re treating a lot of conditions that require various different treatments, try pairing this with an Alacrity engine in the other treatment room and watch them zoom through.
