Summary

Fallout 76’s S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system has similarities to many of the Fallout games that came before it, but its perk system is something new. The more points you have in a certain S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stat, the more perks relating to that specific stat you can have equipped.

The Endurance stat in Fallout 76 is more of a quality of life stat that anything else. Leveling up Endurance upgrades your total health, changes your Action Point drain when sprinting, and influences your resistance to disease. When it comes to perks, here are some of the best perks that Endurance has to offer:

10Fireproof

Take 45 percent less damage from explosive and flame attacks.

One of the only combat perks in the Endurance stat, Fireproof is a pretty great all around perk to carry around into just about any situation. Fighting Mole Rats isn’t going to clock this perk in by any means, but just about any enemy group wielding guns is also capable of throwing an explosive.

This is going to lessen the lethality of those explosives by quite a bit, and give you a lot of extra survivability against most enemies, making it one of thebest perk cardsin the game.

9Cola Nut

Nuka Cola drinks are three times as beneficial.

For those disinterested in carrying an abundance of Stimpacks for one reason or another, Cola Nut might come in quite handy. If you’re capable of getting your hands on a large quantity of this probably-delicious-drink at a time, Cola Nut can really outpace Stimpacks considerably.

One nice thing to note about drinking Colas as opposed to using Stimpacks is that drinking Colas doesn’t have an animation you have to get through; your character just drinks the drink and gets on with their day, meaning you get to carry on doing whatever it was your were doing. Which was probably trying to not die.

8Sun Kissed

Quickly regen radiation damage between 6am and 6pm.

More to save yourself on RadAWay than anything else, Sun Kissed will keep you from having to worry about accruing too much radiation without much hassle, as long as you aren’t getting a lethal amount in one 12-hour period.

For those using a build utilizing Rads, this is a perk to steer wide away from. But for those who try to keep their rads to a minimal level, Sun Kissed is going to be the only tool you really need.

7Radicool

The greater your rads, the greater your strength (max +5 STR).

If you’re running a rads build and also happen to be utilizing strength, Radicool is a non-negotiable perk to include in your build. That five extra strength is nearly two different fully upgraded strength perk cards added to your build, which means you could have a truly preposterous amount of strength perks equipped at the same time.

That’s not even mentioning the upgrade to melee damage and carry weight that the extra strength boost is going to net you. That melee damage buff in particular is key to certain builds.

6Chem Fiend

Any Chems you take last 100 percent longer.

For anygood buildrelying on the regular use of any Chems, Chem Fiend is going to save you quite a lot of Chems in the longer run. Twice as many Chems, in fact, because this makes Chems last twice as long.

This means a lot less manuevering through menus during a long fight to keep your Chem buffs active, and it also means using less RadAWay, because this perk also effects that Chem, doubling your radiation reduction.

5Dromedary

All drinks quench an additional 75 percent.

Exploring Wild Appalachia is thirsty work, but with Dromedary, it’s significantly less thirsty. If you aren’t inclined to carry 20 different drinks in your backpack at all times, Dromedary is going to make you a happier person.

This is certainly not a must-have perk, but for a perk surrounded by other quality-of-life perks in the Endurance stat, this is one of the more worthwhile ones.

4Slow Metabolizer

All food satisfies hunger an additional 75 percent.

You’re not you when you’re hungry. And Slow Metabolizer ensures that you don’t get hungry much at all! Slow Metabolizer keeps a bit more backpack space open for things other than food, and combined with Dromedary, would mean you only have to worry about eating and drinking about a quarter of the time you otherwise would.

This isn’t an absolutely necessary perk, but if you’re someone who doesn’t particularly enjoy cooking in Fallout, this perk might make everything a bit more enjoyable for you.

3Good Doggy

Eating dog food is three times as beneficial.

Another option for those who don’t like cooking in Fallout 76, Good Doggy means you and your best friend can eat the same meal, together. It’s not uncommon to find dog food throughout the world of Fallout 76, and usually, it’s not that consequential.

But, with the Good Doggy perk, that dog food can actually be a pretty nice mid-fight snack, keeping your health out of the danger zone. And, just like drinking Cola mid-fight, it doesn’t force your character through an animation like a Stimpack would, either.

2Hydro Fix

Chems no longer generate thirst.

A convenient addition to a Chems-reliant build, Hydro Fix ensures that you don’t need to bring around a ton of drinks along with your pockets full of Chems. It’s one less upkeep thing you have to worry about when it comes to a Chems build, and Chems builds have a lot of things you have to keep an eye on.

Instead of making sure you’re constantly taking a drink, you can just ensure that your Chem boost is still active, and not worry too much about managing anything else.

1Munchy Resistance

Chems never induce hunger.

The Munchies can be merciless, especially in theFallout universe full of delicious foods, and this perk keeps them at bay. Combined with Hydro Fix, this keeps the negative effects of using Chems at bay, other than any specific effect that the Chem itself entails, and not including the chance of becoming addicted to the Chem.

Neither this or Hydro Fix are must-haves for a Chem build, but they are definitely both nice-to-haves, are going to save you a lot of backpack space, and possibly a lot of cooking time.
