Now, for any seasoned spacefarer, that instantly translates to: “This is Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite store on the Citadel.” A subtle nod to a fellow galactic hero from Mass Effect, this Easter egg adds a touch of intergalactic camaraderie to the Helldivers universe. Remember that ominous billboard in the training area that reads “See you on the other side”? Well, prepare to have your mind slightly blown. Head over to the back of the billboard and take a peek. What do you see? That’s right, the inscription reads “See you on the other side” once again.

This playful Easter egg adds a touch of silliness to the training area while also hinting at the inevitable dangers that await Helldivers on their deployments. Just a friendly reminder to, you know, actually make it to that “other side.” A task harder than it appears.

2A Fond Nod To Teleportation Accidents

Veterans of the first Helldivers game will fondly remember the Displacement Field. This trusty gadget would automatically teleport you to safety when taking heavy damage. The developers haven’t forgotten about this beloved (and sometimes frustrating) feature.

Head over to the Engineering Bay and take a look at the “Monthly Accident Report” sheet hanging on the wall. Amongst the various unfortunate incidents, you’ll find a listing for a “Teleportation Accident.” A funny nod to a signature feature of the previous game, this Easter egg brings back a wave of nostalgia for seasoned Helldivers.

1A Rickroll In The Config

For the PC players out there, this one’s a classic internet troll. You might be tinkering in the Helldivers 2 config file, expecting dry technical details or maybe a glimpse of hidden lore. But the devs, bless their cheeky hearts, had a different plan.

There used to be a hidden YouTube link. Click it and… you would’ve gotten Rickrolled by Astley himself. While the link has been scrubbed, replaced with a tongue-in-cheek message about the legal department putting the kibosh on the fun, it’s a delightful reminder of the devs' playful sense of humor.
