Summary

Are you regularly the life of the party? Do you find conversational combat to be pedestrian? Then you’re probably stacking Charisma inFallout 76. Since the game is multiplayer and not single-player like Fallout’s before it, Charisma has some different bonuses than you might otherwise see.

But that’s not to say Charisma has no use. There are some very great all-around perks to find here that would be useful to any player, regardless of their build, as well as some that are extremely beneficial to certain builds.

10Suppressor

Reduce your target’s damage output by 30 percent for two seconds after you attack.

Suppressor is one of those perk cards that would be beneficial for every single player in the game, as it applies to any combat situation you could find yourself in. While two seconds might not seem like a long time, you’re likely attacking your target more often than once every two seconds, meaning this debuff should be active on them more or less until they die.

fallout 76 trio with vertibird

This is a little bit less useful in a group of enemies, but even then, less damage is less damage. It keeps you alive a little bit longer, and if run with teammates, you could always spread your shots around to debuff every enemy and let your teammates worry about finishing them off.

9Tenderizer

Make your target receive ten percent more damage for ten seconds after you attack.

A perk that is fantastic for every single player, regardless of the build, Tenderizer is going to make you exactly ten percent more effective in combat. While that percentage might not seem like a lot, it adds up over time, especially on some of thetougher enemies.

Player stands near Cotton Candy in Fallout 76

While a lot of Charisma perks are specifically only good either for solo players or players on a team, this perk card is well-suited to fit either preference, and any build, regardless of the weapon you choose to wield.

8Lone Wanderer

When adventuring alone, take 20 percent less damage and gain 30 percent AP regen.

For anybody playing Fallout 76 on your own, Lone Wanderer has your back. There is absolutely no reason not to run this perk card ifyou’re playing solo; even if you aren’t stacking much Charisma, it’s worth investing the three points into it just for this.

That being said, this perk isn’t for everybody. It is a complete and utter waste or a perk slot if you’re running with anybody else on your team. While it’s extremely easy to decide whether or not this perk is for you, it is entirely situational.

7Team Medic

Your stimpacks now also heal nearby teammates for their full strength.

For anybody running in a team, Team Medic is going to be of real value to everybody. This is one of those rare perk cards that useful for support players, but also useful for players in a team that aren’t necessarily built for support, either.

Fallout 76 Fire Players Shooting Near Highway with flames in background

This is going to save everybody in your team a lot of Stimpacks, and it’s probably going to save a lot of their lives, too. This is only a useless perk card for solo players.

6Friendly Fire

Teammates hit by your flame weapon regen health (no grenades).

Who hasn’t wanted to light their closest friends on fire, every once in a while? Well, now you can, and they’ll even thank you for it! Friendly Fire is one of the premiere support build perk cards, allowing you to actively heal your teammates with very little cost to you.

There is a surprising number of flame weapons in the game that work with this perk, meaning you have a lot of different options when it comes to what weapon you choose to run this with. Whatever weapon it is, enemies are going to hate it, and teammates are going to love it.

5Strange In Numbers

Positive mutation effects are 25 percent stronger if teammates are mutated too.

For a team regularly running with amutations build, this perk card can make for a very fun time. There are some ridiculously fun mutations to play with in Fallout 76, ranging from bonuses to damage, greater jump height, faster movement speed, and a lot more.

Fallout 76 four players in colorful power armor

If you have a team full of mutations, this can make for some uniquely unhinged moments, with teammates leaping over buildings in a single build and running circles around enemies that can’t keep up.

4Magnetic Personality

Gain two Charisma for each teammate, excluding yourself.

Whether you’re trying to stack as much Charisma as you possibly can, or just trying to equip more perk cards without investing too much into Charisma, Magnetic Personality is going to be money in the bank if you’re running with teammates.

This is another entirely situational perk card: if you’re running with teammates, each of them is a boon. If you aren’t running with any teammates, there is absolutely no reason to run this perk card.

3Happy Go Lucky

Your Luck is increased by three when under the influence of alcohol.

For those who always seem to have a stash of something that burns when going down and rely on a build utilizing Luck, Happy Go Lucky is made just for you. Alcohol isn’t too hard to find in Fallout 76, and while it does weigh a bit when you’ve got a lot of it on you, if you’re utilizing it to your advantage, it might be worth carrying around.

An increase of three Luck is pretty substantial, and if you find yourself wanting to equip one more Luck perk card than you have slots for, Happy Go Lucky might take you that extra golden mile, while giving you whatever bonus your alcohol provides, as well.

2Inspirational

When you’re on a team with others, you gain 15 percent more XP.

This perk doesn’t actively have any bonus on combat or crafting, but if you’re looking to level up quicker than you otherwise would, Inspirational is going to find its way into your build. That 15 percent extra XP adds up to quite a lot over the course of a quest, and if your teammates don’t have this equipped, you’re going to eventually leave them in the dust.

Fallout 76 Vendor Bot Phoenix standing in front of player wearing power armor

This is not a perk card that’s probably going to have a permanent home in your build, but especially in the early going, Inspirational can get your character whipped into shape in no time. you may always swap this perk out for something else later.

1Hard Bargain

Buying and selling prices at non-player vendors are much better.

Hard Bargain is a perk card that probably isn’t going to stay in your build for any longer than it takes to buy and sell what you need, but that does not make it useless. Hard Bargain is going to save you a lot of caps in the long run.

While it might not be worth grabbing a few points in Charisma just to run this perk card, if you’ve already got the points invested, there’s no reason not to swap this in when doing your business and swapping it back out afterward.
