Summary
If you have ever wanted a place to call your own, then the castle you take over and renovate inEiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroesis the home sweet home you’re looking for. You will spend a good portion of your time recruiting different heroes to fill roles in your castle staff, expanding your facilities, and even just taking in the sights.
While managing your new fortress, you might wonder what facilities to prioritize over others, as well as what each of the numerous castle upgrades will do for you in the long run. With your limited resources at the start, it’s best to make sure to get the best upgrades.

9Treasury And Resource Capacity
To even develop your castle in the first place, you will need an abundant amount of different resources to facilitate construction. In this sense, increasing your stockpile capacities, at least a little bit, might be a very good idea early on.
Your treasury funds increase automatically over time while playing the game, so making sure you don’t run out of space to bank more cash is a good investment of your funds. Also, you will develop facilities that automate resource production as well, so stockpile space will be an issue if you don’t keep up with it.

8Woodcutter’s Cabin
When speaking of resources, one of the most basic goods to think of is wood. You will need to secure a large amount of lumber and its various forms, like Mystic Lumber and Excellent Lacquer, tobuild more advanced buildings and upgrades.
The Woodcutter’s Cabin is the facility you need to get up and running as soon as possible, as it will supply you with a large amount of basic lumber over time. Make sure to recruit Kerrin from the Dappled Forest, and you will be well on your way to the lumber industry. Don’t forget to also pick up the productivity upgrades as well.

7Stone Quarry
Just like with the Woodcutter’s Cabin, the Quarry will automatically harvest large amounts of stone for you to use in your castle construction endeavors. Stone is one of the most important materials you will need, along with lumber.
Another nice benefit to the Quarry is that it will also harvest salt for you to use in your castle kitchen to make different types of dishes. It is also relatively cheap to build first, so you may start collecting stone pretty quickly with minimal effort.

6Hero’s Den
The Hero’s Den will probably be one of the most visited areas in your castle. It plays host to your castle’s inn and restaurant and is a great place to save your game and switch your party around.
The inn is also free of charge to use, so if you are looking to save some money, travel to the Hero’s Den once you unlock fast travel to rest and restore your party’s HP and MP. A few characters also make this place their regular haunt, so checking in every once in a while might also lead to character recruitment as well.

5Restaurant
The other area inside the Hero’s Den that you should invest in getting as soon as you may is Kurtz’s restaurant. Chef Kurtz can whip you up any manner of dish you want, provided you bring him the recipe and ingredients for said dish beforehand. These items can be very powerful in battle, depending on what you make.
Kurtz’s restaurant also has a side quest involved, which has you engaging in cooking battles with various other “evil” chefs. These battles can be fun and silly to do, but more importantly, theycan lead to character recruitment opportunities as well, so don’t forget to do these.

4Drill Grounds
As you progress through the game and recruit dozens upon dozens of characters, it might start to feel a little overwhelming to keep everyone’s levels equal to each other. The facility that can help mitigate this issue is Drill Grounds.
The Drill Grounds will provide a passive experience bonus for all battle characters when not in the active party. While the bonus isn’t massive, it can still be helpful to get more levels on underused characters. This makes any potential foray into the field a little safer in general, though you might still have to level up more to bring them up to speed.

3Stowpack Shop
Have you ever run out of space in your item bag before? Well, the Stowpack Shop will make that worry a thing of the past. This facility and each of its upgrades will increase the item limit in your backpack by ten, allowing you to carry a lot more before running out of space.
The Stowpack Shop, while incredibly helpful, is gated behind a few other upgrades. Most notably, you must first construct the Trade House and the Rune Shop before being able to upgrade your stowpack. Keep an eye out for the characters you need to recruit for each of these facilities, and you will be swimming in items in no time.

2Smithy
Another incredibly important facility and upgrade to your castle is adding your own blacksmith to improve your weapons. Once you recruit Douglas and have your castle town at level 2, you will be able to build the smithy.
While other towns have smithies you can use, they all have different level limits to which you can upgrade your weapons. Your own smithy, however, can be upgraded to the point where you can max out any character’s weapon level. This makes it incredibly convenient to upgrade everyone throughout the course of your adventure.

1Mission Guild
One of the most important facilities to unlock is the Mission Guild. From here, you will be able to group up various characters you have recruited and send them off on different jobs to gather more difficult to obtain resources, as well as rare ingredients for cooking.
These missions are capable of supplying you with materials like mystic lumber and iron ore, as well as even rarer items like platinum ore and excellent lacquer. Since these materials are used extensively in castle construction, getting your guild up and running quickly is a must, especially when there is also a whole assortment of characters to recruit that specifically work for your guild.
