Summary
Archistaves are a category of magical weapon inCapcom’sopen-world RPGDragon’s Dogma 2. These enchanted staves are powerful tools utilized, uniquely, bythe Sorcerer vocationfor the potent magical abilities they contain. The use of such staves enables the Sorcerer to cast the spells distinct to their vocation, churning out incomparable damage.
Each of these archistaves is mechanically unique in some way, be it their stats or the type of damage they inflict. In some cases, they can also apply a debilitation to foes, further augmenting their use and defining the situations in which they will be most effective.

ThePlucked Heartarchistaff features prominently, as you might surmise based on the name, a heart atop its staff. In its most basic form, it can put out a respectable amount of magic damage, with the downside that it isn’t useful for much else.

As it’s a tool for a Sorcerer, however, it accomplishes all that it needs to for any who aspires to master the magical arts. For anything else, you’ll have yourPawns to pick up the slack, covering all the bases for a well-built party.

Talarian Whiteis an archistaff that specializes in dealing Holy damage to foes, while at the same time boating a much higher physical stat than the other staves that roughly equal it. This makes it the perfect tool for any seeking to destroy the Undead.
Talarian White has been blessed for this purpose, with an angelic design that suggests the light with which it banishes darkness. Whether for flavor or utility, this makes it a powerful tool purpose built for situational play.

If the previous archistaff depicts the holy light that empowers it, then this archistaff, in no ambiguous terms, resembles the sun. Unfortunately, such solar iconography imparts no special attributes to this archistaff, save for the base magical output.

That damage, if it’s any consolation, is not insignificant, making this a good intermediate option for those making their way through the game. In all other respects, this is a fairly ordinary weapon, notable mostly for the potential unlocked when upgrading it to higher tiers.

The thorns that adorn the top of this archistaff are said to be in some way cursed, as they were picked from the gravesite of a famed sorcerer. As such, this archistaff inflicts the Silence effect on enemies it is wielded against.
This makes it a powerful potential tool against enemy magic wielders, as Silence will inhibit their ability to cast spells against you. Unfortunately, this effect only applies with an efficacy of 17 percent, meaning that it should not be relied on at all times.

In its base form, the simply namedBane Archistaffboasts a large boost in magical damage over the previous archistaff, making it a good intermediary option for those looking purely to dish out raw damage.

Said to contain the spirit of a dragon who was empowered even in death by his own rage, this archistaff will surely leave no survivors in its wake. It does not, on the other hand, feature any particularly strong physical attributes, leaving it no better than any other in a brawl.

Leaping ahead of the pack is theLion-Lord’s Archistaff, and with it comes a rather sizable boost to both physical and magical damage. Once a tool, supposedly, of kings, this archistaff lives up to its beastly name with an admittedly small percentage of Lightning damage.
This is a type of damage that is particularly useful against foes who are encumbered by the Drenched status effect. So, the Lion-Lord’s Archistaff is the perfect tool for those who specialize in this particular type of magical damage.

TheCaged Furyhas a peculiar effect when compared to other archistaves: the greater levels of health you have, the more potent this archistaff becomes. The more your vitality, the higher the power.
As a Sorcerer, the time it will take to cast your spells necessitates a certain level of distance from the battle, making large pools of health more of a potential safety net when compared to other, morephysically involved vocations. You might be more squishy, but this staff lets you leverage what you’ve got.

TheDragon’s Wit, in its most basic form, features what may be the single highest increase in magical damage over any other staff in the game. It offers, in fact, the highest magical damage of any archistaff in the game before being upgraded in any way.
It may not have the same potential for damage as the Caged Heart has under certain conditions, but in terms of raw magical output, none can compare, at least not without substantial effort. For most Sorcerers, this makes Dragon’s Wit an attractive option.
