When you playKiller Klowns From Outer Space: The Game, you don’t get the option to choose if you want to play as a Human or a Klown. With random matchmaking, the choice is made for you, so it’s important to learn how to play and win no matter which team you end up on.
Playing as a Klown is very different from playing as a Human, so any tactics you’d use as a Human, may not work as a Klown. This guide will give you all the tips and tricks you’ll need for learning how to be the meanest Klown ever.
Beginner Tips For Playing As A Klown
Learning to win as a Klown is mostly about trying tooutsmart the Humans. Although you’re big and mean with the coolest weapons, they are small and quick, and can hide in small places.
Additionally, they are able to fight back and can kill you, which delays your goals of beating them significantly.
Here are a few tipsto get you started playing as a Klown:
Look For Noise Identifiers
Normally, the humans will attempt to stay as quiet as possible, but it’s impossible for them to remain quiet for the entire match and still expect to escape. At some point, they’re going to make some noise.
When they do make some noise, if you’re within a certain range of them, you’ll see moving white circles, indicating where they are.
You’ll most likely see the white circles when they’re running. Bright red circles will display when they’re using a gun or interacting with an escape objective.
If you see a white circle indicating noise, but itseems to be standing still, leave it alone, as that is most likely a radio or TV that a human turned on to distract you.
While youdo get some experience disabling the distraction, your time is best spent chasing the moving white circles.
Hook Up Stray Cocoons
While you’re looking for humans to kill, it is also your job topower up the Lackey Generators. For each cocoon you hook up a Lackey is spawned to help you.
You can hook up humans that you’ve cocooned in cotton candy, but as you walk around the map you’ll alsofind other stray cocoons lying around.
As often as you can, if you’re not actively in chase with a human, find these stray cocoonsand hook them up.
Don’t Take On Large Groups Of Humans Alone
You may be big and mean, but that doesn’t mean you need to be stupid. Humans are able to become armed to the teeth withfirearms, axes, knives, bats, and more. They will fight back, and they will kill you.
If you see a large group of Humans, call on your Klown buddiesfor help before taking them on. Or, wait until the humans separate, and then you canpick them off one by one.
Utilize Your Klown Tricks
Each Klown is equipped with three Klown Tricks, which areyour special powers that help you hunt humans: two default tricks, and one additional trick that you may change.
The first default trick is theKlown Jump. This will be the first one available in the match, and it allows you tojump to anywhere on the map, as long as you’ve already been there in that match.
The second default trick is called LOL.This trick uses your Klown’s maniacal laughto refill health, stamina, and give you atemporary speed boost.
Your third trick is one you can set for yourself. The options, once unlocked, are:
To get the best use out of the Klown Jump Trick,we recommend spending the first minute or two exploring the mapso that when it’s time to do a jump, you’re not blocked anywhere.
Use The Right Weapons For Your Klown Type And Play Style
Once you’ve unlocked all the Klown weapons, you are able to switch them out, mixing and matching with your different loadouts.
Although this gives you great freedom in choosing your loadout, it is important to remember that the weapons are not one-size-fits all andwon’t work well with all the Klown Typesavailable.
Pay attention to the stats that come with each Klown Type. If the type you choose doesn’t have a lot of stamina to chase after humans, you might want to use something that will slow them down.
Alternatively, if your Klown type doesn’t have much strength,a ranged weapon will be better.
All Ways To Kill Humans
There arefour ways Klowns are able to kill humansduring the match. As the Klown, once you’ve downed a human, it’sup to you how you kill them.
Deciding the method islargely dependent on what you want to accomplishin the match, whether you’re trying to complete a challenge, working towards unlocking a trophy, or you just unlocked a new Klowntality and wish to give it a spin.
Here are the four ways in whichyou can kill humans in a match:
Cocooning
Trapping a human in a cotton-candy cocoon is theprimary way to kill them. Once they’re in the cocoon, you can hook them up to a Lackey Generator.
This method does come with its drawbacks, however, as it takes a long time for the human to die (roughly 60 seconds). Thisgives them the chance to break out(if they are holding a sharp tool) or allows the other humans time to free them.
Melee Kill
Using your secondary weapon, you can deal damage to humans as a means of knocking them down.
Once they’re downed, you have a short window where you can cocoon them. However, if you don’t feel like going through the trouble, you canjust keep hitting them until they perishright there on the ground.
Klowntality
The final method of killing a humancan also be achieved once the human has been downed.
Instead of cocooning or killing with your secondary weapon, you’re able to alsoselect one of the four Klowntalities you have equipped and use that instead. This gives you a silly and slightly graphic cinematic of your Klown killing the human.
Klownpocalypse
From the beginning of the game, the match is counting down till the end of the invasion, known as Klownpocalypse.
If there are any humans still in the match, Klownpocalypse will trigger during the last five minutes andwill kill every human still remaining.
If you are able toget all 16 cocoons hooked up to the Lackey Generators, you will trigger Klownpocalypse early, which gives the humans even less time to escape and gives youmore chances to win.
