Understand Roles Vs. Archetypes

Heroes fall into two categories: Roles and Archetypes.

Roles are the broad goals they’re trying to accomplish and are self-explanatory, such asFrontliners, Ranged DPS, Melee DPS, and Support. They accomplish those roles through their Archetypes.

This makes it crucial to look past the roles when you select a character: see where your team falls short regarding Archetypes and fill those roles accordingly. If you want a flexible Hero, try some of these options.

Ranged DPS/Support

Shooter/Utility

He canapply Poison to reduce enemy Healing, Stealth, Heal, and Immobilize.

Frontline/Melee DPS

Bruiser

He has a ranged attack, canInterrupt opponents, has a self-targeted Movement Speed boost, and has a status ailment heavy Ultimate.

Support/Ranged DPS

Control

She can constantly Heal herself, apply Cracked Armor, Knock Up enemies, Slow them, and Disable enemy actions.

Prioritize Heroes With Great Mobility While You Learn

Excellent mobility can make all the difference when you’re first learning the game. Whileevery character can Sprint, not all of them have mobility options.

Focusing on mobility Heroes will make a differencefor multiple reasons.

Luckily, each Role offers characters with good mobility options.

For example,Rutgercan burrow in the ground to avoid damage,Becketthas a jetpack to dodge enemies,Tyto the Swiftcan leap at enemies and rush them down, andVodencan enter Stealth.

Once youget better at positioning and find yourself relying less on those mobility abilities, you’re able to branch out to other characters.

Spend Your Coins On Creature Loadouts First

As you play matches, you’ll gain Coins that you can spend on Emotes, Cosmetics, and other bonuses. However, they aren’t as important as Creature Loadouts.

Creature Loadouts are the monsters that will appear at points around your base to protect healing areas. It’s crucial to find the best ones for your playstyle, based on the six categories they fall into:

The most expensive Creatures only cost 1,000 coins, which you may easily earn in a few matches.

Create Two Builds For Your Heroes

Each Hero has two preset Builds you can equip, but it’sbetter to create custom Buildsbased on your playstyle. You should create at least two Builds based on two different playstyles to pick the better one based on the situation.

Mozu is a great example of this, since you have many upgrades, likeRun and Hit, Dimensional Offense, and Drawn to Lifeto maximize his standard attacks for DPS. On the other hand, you may useCantrip of Destruction, Force Feedback, and Confusionto give you more Utility.

Whilepreset Builds are good if you’re trying a character, you can develop a better build overall.

Fight For The Middle, But Prioritize Your Points

As you go through a match, you’ll noticethe middle Circle Points are the most important. Since the ones to the side are easier for the corresponding teams to reach, the middle one will be fought over.

As soon as the match starts, run to the middle Circle Point and attempt to fight for it. However, if you aren’t able to get it,retreat to your own Circle Point and prioritize itto avoid giving all three to the enemies.

No matter what point you go for, look around while you capture them. You can see enemies in the distance and stop capturing to prevent them from taking you down.

Staying Alive Is More Important Than Capturing Points

Speaking of looking around for enemies, it’s much more important to stay alive than take a Circle Point. While Circle Points offer 20 points, your death gives the enemy team ten points.

If you die while defending or taking a Circle Point, the enemy will likely get 30 points total. You won’t respawn for at least ten seconds, leaving your team at a significant disadvantage, letting your enemies push for more points.

If you’re low on health, run away to one of your Creatures or back to the base. You’ll likely encounter a Healing Bloom for a quick burst of health, or you can stand next to a Creature to slowly regenerate your Health.

If an enemy runs away, and you try to chase them down by Sprinting, back off if you’re running low on Stamina, or they go to their base. If you keep chasing them, the enemy team will likely swarm you.

This also makes it crucial toavoid using your Stamina during fights, so you can Sprint away from enemies.

Pay Attention To Your Sprint Animation

Your Sprint animation varies from your walking animation, with you automatically Sprinting when you’re out of combat. Your Stamina won’t drop when you Sprint normally, butit will lower if you use it while fighting enemies.

If you pay attention to your Hero and noticewhen they stop Sprinting, that means an enemy is close to you. This will let you look around and find them before they can take you down.

Every Hero’s animations are different, sowhen you’re waiting for the match to start, pay attention to your Sprint animation.

Save Your Ultimate For Rampages

Every Hero has an Ultimate attack that fills as you play out the match. These Ultimates have multiple levels, meaning you can hold onto it while filling up the meter to deal more damage.

This gives you the perfect situation tohold onto your Ultimate until a Rampage starts. Once a team reaches 100 points, the enemy’s Guardian will be vulnerable for a few seconds.

Since both teams will gather to the corresponding Guardians, andUltimates are most powerful when opponents are grouped together, this gives you a perfect chance to use them, turning the tide.

You keep your Ultimate even if you die, so don’t feel like you must use it when you’re low on Health.

Ignore MOBA Instincts And Stick With Your Team All Game

Unlike other MOBAs in the genre,Gigantic: Rampage Edition has a small map, making it easy to get from one point to another. Usually, MOBAs have you stay in different lanes, but you’ll perform better in this one by sticking with your team.

As soon as the match begins, follow your Frontliners. If you’re aSupport, place yourself between the Frontliners and the Ranged DPS, and the Ranged DPS players should stay in the back.

If you find the enemy splitting up, try your best to assess and determine which group you should attack. For example, if two enemies run off to one of your Creature locations while three fight at the Capture Point in the middle, go for the middle group, since you can potentially get 50 points instead of 20.

Assassins can run off to the side for a bit toflank the enemy, especially if they have a Stealth move.
