As you explore the world and story ofAstra: Knights Of Veda, you’ll discover an in-depth system that rewards skill. While practice can get you through the game, you’ll encounter plenty of systems designed to help you progress through the story without having to spend money on the game.
With so many options, you may question how to use your resources. For instance, is it better to purchase new equipment, or should you enhance your weapons? How about leveling up your characters, and should you level them all equally? There’s plenty to consider, so using this beginner’s guide will point you in the right direction while offering advice to help you make the most of the game’s systems.
Don’t Overlevel Your Starting Knights
Before you enter a map, the game will give you a recommended level, and whileit may be tempting to spend all your upgrades to over-levelyour characters, avoid doing it for the time being.
The game gives you multiple Knights at the start, but these are lower level Knights, and you’ll earn better ones as you keep playing. It’s better totry out new Knights as you unlock them, incorporate them into your team, and bring them up to your current party’s level.
Start over-leveling your characters once youestablish your go-to Knights.
Enhance Equipment With Old Items
You may want to sell your old equipment for Gold, but you’ll get more Gold than you need, especially early on. This isn’t immediately clear, but you canuse old equipment to strengthen your newer, better items.
While this is a great way to make your characters stronger, you can only strengthen equipment with the corresponding items. For instance,you can’t use accessories to strengthen weapons.
Whenever you feel the need to make your weapons stronger, alwaysuse your weakest weapons first, since you get plenty of them and can save your upgrade items for better equipment.
If you’re low on old equipment, go to the weapons seller in town.He’ll have new wares every day, which you can purchase for just a few hundred Gold.
Spend Your Resources On Crystals
Speaking of how you use your resources, you should focus on Crystals for now.Crystals will give you one of two things: a Knight or a weapon.
Even if you get a repeat Knight, you can upgrade them to a stronger version of the character while keeping weapons or enhancing any you don’t want. You’ll want todo this until you have all the Knightsor make your favorite characters stronger.
When you go to the Call Of The Stars menu, you havemultiple ways to get more Crystals for free.
Once you have your Crystals, you should prioritize limited or special events, since they offer more. For instance, when you first start, you get the Start of the Call of the Stars special event, which lets youspend eight Crystals for ten rewards up to five times.
Use Dodges To Perform Animation Cancels
The dodge mechanic allows you to avoid damage with invincibility frames, but it alsoworks as an animation cancel. If you press it during any of your attacks, you’re able to immediately end them, offering multiple advantages in combat:
you’re able to’t spam dodges, but if youuse them to avoid attacks, back off, and get back to fighting, you won’t run out of Stamina.
Be careful with your skill timing.Use a skill when the enemy isn’t attackingso you don’t cancel the animation and miss out on damage.
Rotate Knights During Battle
you may haveup to four Knights in your partyduring combat. Since you want to maximize your damage, it’s crucial to do the following with your party.
Doing this will let youtime your Knights so that when you return to them, your skills are ready or almost ready. Use your Ultimate Skills when they fill up as well to maximize damage further.
Balance Your Party With Elements And Classes
Every character will have different elements and classes that you must consider when creating your team. Even though elements have weaknesses, like Light defeating Blood, it’smore important to have a variety to deal with stronger enemies.
If you use the same element on an enemy, they’ll gain a shield for it, causing them to take minimal damage. This requires you to swap to another element to start harming them again, so bring four element types when possible.
You cancheck the enemy elements before you join a map, so if you want to maximize damage, try to counter those elements with your party setup.
As for classes, you’ll run into four class types: DPS, Tank, Healer, and Support. While the first three are common in the genre,Support is more of a filler class.
Supports tend to be the jack of all trade types, havingabilities to help the party while dealing solid damage. For instance, Yanko has excellent ranged attacks and a turret that can deal more damage while drawing aggro.
Try tobring one of each class, and at least two ranged charactersto cover your bases.
Never Leave Your Adventurer Shoes At Max
Your Adventurer Shoes are resources that let you replay levels. This matters sinceeach level focuses on different resources,which fall into four categories.

Enhance the Knight of Veda
Records, which let yougive experience to your Knightsto level them up.
Gold
Thebasic currency used for most purchasesand upgrades.
You’ll restore one Adventurer Shoe every nine minutes, meaning you’ll refill enough for an extra level every one and a half hours. If you plan to be away from the game for nine hours to sleep and get ready for the day, spend about 60 Adventurer Shoes to maximize the restoration.
If you log out of the game with maximum Adventurer shoes,you’re wasting that time and not maximizing your resourcesto cut down on grinding later on.
When you replay levels to gain these resources, you canactivate auto-battle to speed up the process. If you choose to do this, pay attention to the screen or only choose easy levels, or your party may wipe, since the auto-battle doesn’t do a great job of dodging and avoiding damage.
Visit The Nightmare Before You Log Off
As expected from a mobile game, you should log in every day, even if you only play for a bit. You’llencounter plenty of bonuses and rewards for logging into your account.
With that in mind, early in the game, you’ll encounterthe Nightmare, where you may gain your AFK rewards. Before you log off, you should visit the Nightmare to collect any AFK awards you gained while playing.
You’ll also appear in the Nightmare whenever you log back into the game, reminding you to immediately grab those bonuses.
You need to sleep in your bed to enter the Nightmare, but you’re able to alsoselect the icon with the three faces to fast-travel there.
