While it might be your first day on the job,Abiotic Factordoes not pull its punches while you try to escape the facility filled with monsters and deadly robots. While some areas can be daunting, the paths you may follow and progress will become clearer with time.

Even still, learning how to navigate the many levels and departments of your new workplace requires time, strategy, and the ability to out-maneuver the monsters coming after you. If you can collect the resources you need and have access to plenty of tools, then you’ll be that much closer to escaping the dangerous company offices.

Build A Starter Base

Once you get into Level One Office Space, you shouldconsider building a basesomewhere in that area that you may use as a main operating center with a crafting bench. Unlock the bed for a checkpoint and storage crate recipes to be able to return materials and craft new items as you need them in the first few areas.

Robots that patrol near your base may destroy your barricades and chests if they can see them on their route, so consider making your base in an enclosed room.

You’ll need a bed to help heal and sleep through the nights without any power. Having aheater attached to a makeshift batterynear your living space will ensure that your character is comfortable through the night.

Once you’ve progressed to the supply room on Level Three, you’ll unlock the anvil, and you shouldadd a repair station to your main basefor repairing tools.

Once you get more comfortable, you can create a further upgraded base in an area you like more. Ensure you’re also upgrading your workbench to provide extra benefits to your main bases.

Create Checkpoints In Each New Area

You should build further spawn points and crafting benches as you go to ensure that you have multiple places to rest at night or craft tools throughout the facility. While it might take extra resources, it can be extremelyfrustrating having to navigate the levelsafter you’ve died because you spawn back at your main base.

There’s no need to build a repair bench and cooking station at every spawn point, but having the basics available to you at multiple points can help.

Collect And Prioritize Tools

There should never be a moment where you don’thave a screwdriver in your inventory, due to its necessity and abundance in the world. The screwdriver can be used to package items like furniture, sometimes breaking them and giving basic resources.

When you die, you’ll keep everything in your quickbar at the bottom of the screen.

You can also occasionallyfind hammers and make melee clubsearly on. These weapons will help you break down items and furniture faster for resources. When you unlock the crossbow recipe, use it and place the crossbow in your quickbar alongside arrows to help you keep track of your ammo.

Grab Every Resource

You’llneed every resourceto craft the items and stations you need to continuously progress across the facility. This means you should learn what furniture or destructible item gives what resources, so you know what to look for when you need it.

To help you collect resources in between visits to a storage container, you shouldcraft a makeshift backpackand then upgrade if you find the Basic Backpack or better in the world.

Keep Plenty Of Nets

The Pests are more annoying than deadly, but they still pose a persistent threat if you don’t deal with them. Thankfully, you’ll learn how tocraft netsearly on during the tutorial, and you should never be without them from then on.

The nets are great atkeeping Pests in placeuntil you can stomp on them, but they also work on the four-legged monsters as well. Throw the nets on their heads, and they’ll be trapped in place to allow you a few free attacks.

Listen To NPCs To Progress

If youlisten to the charactersplaced sparsely throughout the facility, you’ll get a lot of tips about where you should go next or who you should talk to. Many of these tips will help you unlock new areas and get more crafting recipes.

Make sure toexhaust dialogue options, continuing to speak to the NPCs until they begin to repeat similar phrases, as they sometimes provide additional context or tips. You can also hold the prompted button to ‘Repeat Conversation’ to hear the important part of the dialogue again.

Learn Your Routes

While the facility is all one big underground building,it can still be hard to navigateand remember exactly which doors lead to the area you want to go to. There aremaps you can grab on every new level, but it’s way easier if you can remember certain areas and how they lead back to your base.

Every night at 9pm when the power goes out, you’ll be in the dark surrounded by robots and your standard enemies. It’s better if youknow how to get back to your bedsafely and remembering your routes and landmarks will help you do this every time.

Learn How To Deal With Robots

If you build your base on the first floor of the main plaza, then you’re likely going to have tocontend with the security robotsthat patrol at night. you’re able to see them charging in their stations during the day and they won’t hesitate to stop you if you get too close at night.

Robots will respawn the next night after you defeat them, so do not rely on defeating them as a long-term strategy.

They work based on sight, so building a base out of the way of their patrols is a good option. Eventually, to progress, you’ll have to defeat the security robots, and it’s better touse a ranged weapon paired with trapsto get the parts you need.

Craft The Crossbow To Level Up Multiple Skills

As you play a character in Abiotic Factor, you will constantly be earning experiencefor skills like sneaking, accuracy, reloading, and several more. As you progress in levels, you’ll eventually start to unlock new abilities related to those skills.

Crafting the crossbow and using it to fight against enemies is agreat way to level up multiple skillsin the early game, which can prove a real asset in surviving against the robots and other enemies that are better attacked from a distance.

Check Email Terminals

There are a lot of computers throughout the offices in your new workplace, witha few of them being opened to the emailof the workers that used to inhabit the stations. These are great sources of lore and can help guide you towards better resources.

You can also get new entries for your database about important people in the facility andnew crafting recipes by clicking on the image attachmentsin the email. These will expand slowly, and your tablet will be updated.

Prepare For Base Attacks

At certain points,a large purple rift will appearnear your base and enemies will begin to flow through it. This can be dangerous for you and any furniture that you have placed around your base. To combat this, consider placing traps and making sure you always have a way to defend your base.

It’s hard to know ahead of time when a rift will appear, butoccasionally purple text will appearon your screen telling you that something different might happen that night. If you have the crafting bench ‘Portal Suppression Field’ upgrade, it can help prevent these instances.
