When picking your initial athletes, you should be first mindful of their total stats.Every athlete can play in one of five positions, which are Top-Lane, Mid-Lane, Bot-Lane, Jungle and Support.

Every athlete has five attributes which influence how effective they are in their roles. These attributes areOffense, Defense, Mechanics, Reflex and Farming. Each position has certain stats that you should prefer to maximize on your athletes. So, here’s the list of positions and the stats which you should prioritize for it.

Go Through Your Athlete’s Trait and Hero Synergy

Apart from position and stats, your athletes also have a Match Trait and Hero Pool.As you may have guessed, theHero Pool decides the initial selection of heroes which your athlete can play. TheMatch Trait is a unique perkwhich provides your athletes withcertain boosts and advantages during matches.

When you are selecting your athletes, you should make sure that your athletes canplay appropriate characters for your desired roles. For example, thepreferred class for Bot Lane is Marksman, so ensure that your Bot Lane athlete has at least one marksman hero at the beginning.

There are a plethora of Match Traits which you may find for your athletes and, unlike Hero Pool, you cant change this trait even in later stages of the game unless you get rid of your athlete. So, make sure you either get traits whichdirectly benefit your athlete’s position or provide permanent boosts.

Be Mindful Of Your Competition

Before you begin your playthrough or after you finish a match, you might be skipping through most of the long dialogues and information which follows after. This won’t affect you much in early games or at lower difficulty, but this information becomes critical in later stages of the game or especially at higher difficulty.

Making a habit of keeping acheck on your competition, analyzing their strong players and knowing which heroes they play, provides you with an absolute advantage during matches. you may then leverage this info toban the right heroes and lead your team to victory.

Compare And Counter Your Opponent Athletes

Prior to starting any match, you get the chance to compare your athletes with your opponent’s team’s athletes andget a look at their stats as well as Match Trait. This valuable information can help you detect the strengths andespecially the weaknesses in your opponent’s team.

For example, if yourenemy jungler’s Farming attribute is lower than your team’s jungler, you can leverage this information to use Farming cards during the match andcreate an early game advantage.

You get the option to view theMost Played heroes in post-match analysis, but during the pre-match phase, you get tosee the top three most used heroes of every opponent athlete. This information is also very helpful in late-game banning phases where you need to ban three or more heroes.

Be Sure To Ban Your Opponent’s Strengths

Once you start a match, the banning phase is by far the next most important step. If you are a complete beginner, you will have to ban only two heroes, but this number increases to three in later stagesof the playthrough. You can get a significant advantage over your opponent in the banning phase byremoving your opponent’s strongest heroes.

This phase is a double-edged sword, especially at higher difficulty levels, because theAI will also ban your best heroes. The best way to counter this is by focusing ondeveloping expertise in two heroes instead of one for every athletethroughout your playthrough.

Always Pick Your Best Heroes

Following the banning phase, you’ll be entering the hero-picking phase where you need to choose the heroes for your athletes. Always prioritize your heroes with the highest proficiency level. If you see your opponent’s athletes using similar heroes as your own, prioritize picking the heroes which you share in common to limit the opponent’s options.

Having a high proficiency with a hero providesadditional perks and benefitswhen using that hero in matches. The more the athlete uses that hero, the higher the proficiency gets.

Choose Your Medals Carefully

After you qualify for the first league and increase the coach’s rank, you will unlock the option to equip Medals. The medals are basically match goals which your athletes can fulfill during the match andget additional EXP points and stats.

Be mindful of the medals you equip because some of the conditions required to obtain the bonus can be quite difficult to pull off, which would result in less rewards for your athletes. Equipping medals that require acertain KDA or the ones which are awarded to a single athlete, such as most kills or highest gold, are a preferable option.

Set Up Your Heroes Equipment Properly

Rather than focusing on the in-match elements, most of the matches are already won if you’ve got the pre-match preparation right. One of these essential pre-match elements is the hero’s equipment. Like any other MOBA, thehero’s equipment is the crux of your heroesand having the right equipment allows them to bemuch more powerful during the match.

You can onlyequip three items of equipmentfor every hero that is participating in a match. They alsorequire a certain amount of gold during a match to purchase, which makes the farming attribute much more important.

Know Your Turn And Plays

The most essential aspects whichyou need to be mindful about are the turns and strategy points. The initial eight turns you don’t get to play any cards, and have to wait for your strategy points to increase.Once you hit eight strategy points, you enter a deployment phasewhere you can play in-game cards which are either specific to your athlete or from their hero.

If you use the entirety of eight strategy points before ending deployment, youll have to waitat least eight turns before getting to play a card again. Whereas if you use only one point, you canimmediately enter the deployment phase again the very next turn.

Since this applies to both you and your opponent, you can leverage this information to time your deployment phasesprior to slaying the Dragon or Herald to gain an advantage during those fights.
