Assassin’s Creed Shadowshas been in the works for a while but wasn’t officially revealed until 2024. The next game in the series, which will finally fulfill fans' of the series desires to play a game set in feudal Japan, was given a release date of June 03, 2025, at the same time. Unfortunately, that was a little ambitious. With less than a month to go,Ubisoft delayed Shadowsand nowit won’t be here until July 30, 2025. Hey, Happy Valentine’s Day, I guess.

That doesn’t mean your pre-orders are now void, of course, nor does it mean you can’t still place one. In fact, if you had been holding out on securing a copy of Shadows, you now have more time to decide which edition you want. There are four editions to choose from, all of which vary in price -from $70 up to $280- and naturally include varying selections of physical and digital bonuses and goodies. Below we have breakdowns of all four editions of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, their pre-order bonuses, and links to all the storefronts through which you can buy the upcoming game.

If all you want from Shadows is the base game, then you’re able to pre-order the Standard Edition through the links in the box below and get a little something extra for doing so -a bonus quest called Thrown to the Dogs. Some players getting a mission others won’t appears to be the done thing inUbisoftgames now. However, unlikeStar Wars Outlaws, Shadows' bonus quest doesn’t cost any extra, it’s just locked behind a pre-order bonus.

Additional Content

Ubisoft has removed pre-order listings for every version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows other than the standard edition at every retailer other than the Xbox Store. If those listings return, or Ubisoft confirms Shadows will only be getting a standard edition, we’ll let you know.

Prior to Shadows' delay, the Gold Edition included three days of early access, granting you access to the game 72 hours before everybody else - or at least everyone who pre-ordered the standard edition. For right now, at least, Ubisoft appears to have pulled pre-order listings for Shadows' Gold Edition everywhere other than the Xbox Store. It’s unclear whether those listings will return and whether pre-orders that were already placed remain intact or have been refunded.

The Gold Edition of Assassin’s Creed Shadows gets you the base game, its [re-order bonus if you buy before release day, and three days of early access along with the game’s Season Pass.

The same applies to the Ultimate Edition. However, it was only ever listed in two places, the PlayStation and Xbox stores, and it’s gone from the former but still available in the latter. This $130 version of the next Assassin’s Creed game includes everything already mentioned above, including the pre-order bonus quest, with something Ubisoft has dubbed the Ultimate Pack for that additional $20. In The Ultimate Pack you’ll find a selection of in-game cosmetics designed to enhance your experience with the game. Gear and weapon sets you can use to customize protagonists Naoe and Yasuke, trinkets for your hideout, skill points, and a Red Dragon filter for photo mode.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows' Ultimate Edition is the last stop before things get super expensive. On top of the early access and Season Pass, the Ultimate Edition also includes in-game cosmetics for the characters and your hideout.

For the complete Assassin’s Creed Shadows experience, you can head to GameStop to buy its impressive Collector’s Edition. The Collector’s Edition was a GameStop exclusive and while its store page is still live, it seems to have sold out. The game itself that comes with this pricey option is the Ultimate Edition, so everything you’ve already read about above is included, as it should be for $280. What makes it worth that significant chunk of change for hardcore Assassin’s Creed fans are the physical goodies that come with it. A Steelbook, an artbook, and a Tsuba replica, something I definitely didn’t have to Google roughly 30 seconds before writing this.

assassin’s creed shadows collector’s edition box and statue

The Collectors Edition of Shadows gets you everything an Assassin’s Creed game could possibly want from this games, the physical goodies that come with it headlined by a statue of its two lead characters.

The coup de grace of this Collector’s Edition is the statue that comes with it. Since Shadows has two playable heroes, its Collector’s Edition statue depicts both of them. Naoe posed on a plinth ready to strike, and Yasuke holding a fighting stance, katana in hand. Despite its price and Shadows' problems, this pricey edition appears to have sold out fast.
