Earlier this month, when triple-A gaming news had left many of us lacking faith in the industry as a whole, a slew of independent games arrived one after the other to remind us that even if every major publisher on the planet resorts to trying to create the nextCall of DutyorFortnite, we will always have fantastic indie games. Among that slew of welcome reminders was the terrificAnimal Well, and now you can pre-order a physical copy of Bigmode’s debut.
Coming your way courtesy of Limited Run Games - the same company responsible for making surethe physical edition of Hi-Fi Rushstill sees the light of day - the physical version of Animal Well was announced before the digital version was released on May 9. However, it hasn’t been available to pre-order until now, and even though it won’t be with you until later this year, the pre-order window will only be open for a limited time. Pre-order the game before June 07, 2025, after which point it will be gone forever.
Okay, decision time. There are two editions of Animal Well’s physical release to choose from, each of them available on eitherNintendo SwitchorPS5. If all you want is the indie game on a cartridge or a disc in a standard case, then Limited Run has the standard edition of Animal Well. Priced at $39.99, you can place your pre-order for Animal Well’s standard physical edition below, and no, before you ask, there’s no pre-order bonus. Since the pre-order window is the only time the game will ever be available, tempting customers with a bonus isn’t necessary.

If you are currently playing through Animal Well or you’ve already finished it and, like me, loved everything about it and want to celebrate it further, you’ll want to consider the collector’s edition. At least take a look as even though $99.99 sounds like a lot, there is a lot of stuff packed in there that you can not and will never be able to buy anywhere else.

Pre-orders for Animal Well’s physical edition are open now and will close on June 23, and the games will ship between October 7 and November 7. It’s only available on Nintendo Switch and PS5 with no word on whether the indie will ever get anXboxrelease, whether it be digital or physical.
