Summary
After the debacle that was, and thenXbox shutting down successful studios, a lot of us needed something this week to restore our faith in video games. Three fantastic, yet very different, indie games launching on the same day has reminded us there is still a lot of good in the industry. Little Kitty Big City, Crow Country, andAnimal Wellare all available now, and the last of those three is already on sale onNintendo SwitchandSteamto celebrate.
Animal Well is sitting ona very healthy score of 91 on Metacritic, and if this is the first you’re hearing about Bigmode’s newest game, it is well worth your time. You might read the term Metroidvania and roll your eyes as it’s starting to feel like the genre getting a little oversaturated. However, a lot likePrince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Animal Well has managed to change up the formula enough that this will feel unlike most other Metridvanias you’ve played recently.

You assume the role of a blob in a pixelated world you’re tasked with navigating without combat to help you get by. If you’re still not convinced then maybe the game being on sale right out the gate will tempt you into giving it a chance. Not only is Animal Well ten percent off on Switch and Steam until May 24, but it’s a relatively cheap game even at full price. Just $24.99, so significantly less than the $70 that has become the industry standard during this current gen, but brought down to $22.49 while it’s on sale.

The good news for Xbox owners is one of the other fantastic-looking indie games, Little Kitty Big City is available on Xbox andhas already been added to Game Pass. That’s the only place you can currently get the new cat game for less as it’s not on sale anywhere yet, nor is it included in any other subscription services.
