Summary

Details aboutMonolith’s in-development Wonder Woman video gamehave been extremely scarce sinceits 2021 announcement at The Game Awards. There had been fear that it hadshifted into a live-service game, though Warner Bros debunked that rumor. More recently, it wasalleged that the game was “troubled,” according to Kinda Funny co-founder Greg Miller. Whatever the case may be, gamers can agree that the silence has been worrying.

That said, it appears that the silence has been broken. On Sunday, alleged concept art, plot details and gameplay mechanicswere shared on social media. These details apparently come from a Warner Bros. marketing survey, though nothing has been confirmed. Check it out:

Wonder Woman’s Plot Allegedly Involves Other DC Characters

Beyond concept art, a potential plot synopsis was also shared online. In it, Wonder Woman is described as a single-player action-adventure game, where Circe, a powerful sorceress, has invaded Wonder Woman’s homeland of Themyscira with an army of creatures, including gorgons. Wonder Woman must return home to defend her birthplace and to also repair her relationship with her mother, Queen Hippolyta, as well as other Amazons that feel betrayed by Diana’s decision to leave.

Additionally, the alleged plot synopsis says that “you will encounter iconic DC characters as well as a unique cast of procedurally generated allies and enemies.” Those procedurally generated allies and enemieswill factor into the game’s use of the Nemesis System, per the leak. Here’s the synopsis in full:

Finally, the alleged marketing survey also outlined potential gameplay elements of Wonder Woman. Among those elements is the power of flight to traverse the open world as well as “tiara throws” and “bracer bullet deflections.” The Lasso of Truth is also referenced, as are bow and arrow abilities. Elsewhere, Medusa and Cheetah are listed as villains, in addition to Circe.

While it is impossible to verify the accuracy of the survey, a lot of the information does lineup with what has been rumored over the years. For example, the plot synopsis references procedurally generated allies and enemies,. That listing referenced creating procedurally generated stories.

Additionally, the initial teaser trailer, which was narrated by Hippolyta, hasher telling Wonder Woman that a new threat has come to the Amazon and that she must call her home. The leaked synopsis lines up with what originally had been teased, helping lend it some additional credence. Still, it’s impossible to say for sure, even if there is Warner Bros. branding.

Given that Summer Game Fest has come and gone, it would appear that Wonder Woman has missed its shot at a re-reveal. That said, Gamescom is on the horizon, and the game could always return to The Game Awards. Here’s hoping these alleged materials mean the game still exists and is in good shape.
